Ya i got hit today! My car got hit by an explorer from behind and is all f-ed up....Trunk, bumper, tails etc...is crushed in and my check engine light came on and my car is running like poop, and the tranny makes some weird rattling noise as well now. I was at a light stopped and after i got hit the car revved up and made this loud bang noise like when you turn your car off when its in gear. Now it runs like poop so i dont know whats wrong! Ill post pics when I get my G/F's camera.......

That DOES Suck.
I get mine back Tuesday.
I wouldn't drive it and let the Insurance Companies worry about it.
Mine needed a New Front Bumper cover, condenser, radiator, heat exchanger and exhaust heat shield plus the deer guts power washed off.

I was on Lindbergh at tesson at the light there........The rear bumper is crushed, trunk is smashed, rear left quarter panel is smashed in, rear left tail is hanging off, exhaust got bent, inner part of trunk got crushed in all the way to where the rear tire is, xm radio box reciever in trunk got smashed, transmission rattles really bad now when i let off the gas and check engine light came on and my motor is misfiring pretty bad at idle now....When i got hit the car made this loud bang noise after it revved up??? Basically the car is f-ed looking, Its only worth 6500 bucks since it has 95k on it

Yup wheels are fine.......Hopefully I can get a new car, it depends on how the trannny and motor are, Im thinkin it might get totalled out! Mustang here i come if thats the case!

As little damage as I had, it was a little over $3000, so your probably totaled.
OUCH, that Sucks.

Maybe see if you can buy it back ,and part it out if you had a lot of Mods that would sell for more than you we get from just the insurance.

I have some prices here that the insurance company is paying for my replacement parts, some new, some used, if you're interested.

 

Okay just got back from a Guesstimate at the auto body shop.......Okay so starting off the first one i went too says $4371.00 and thats from what they can just see, they said there is usually more then what they see hidden in there and she said there are a few parts that she doesnt know if they will have to replace yet so thats more right there. I havent even gone to an Auto Repair shop to have them check the tranny out yet. The cars average retail value with my miles on it is 9 grand.So Im guessing it might get totaled out, if so im buying a Mustang or LS1 car, no TC for me. If i can get out of the 4 cylinders i will, Im also going to a dealer auto body shop so they can give me an estimate, hehe Im guessing it will end up being 6k+ in damage which is pretty bad!

Hey did they try and get you on the refurbished parts crap? Im not going to let them do that to me since my car is so rare, I want all OEM parts factory new parts.

 

I got some new and some used parts. New Nose and Heat Exchanger.
Used Radiator and Condenser.
They said if I wanted those parts to be New, I would have to pay the difference.
I'm out of work right now so I didn't fight them on that.
I only have 24000 miles on mine.
My car is at Meramec Heights A/B at 21 and 141.
Insurance Company tried to get me to go to Sapaugh in Herky.

 

Ya im going to an Auto Body shop here in Eureka called Selberts.......I might try a dealer cause they have very high rates, the insurance company told me to go where i want if i didnt want to use who they told me too. So thats what im doing, lol. Also the auto body shop put in their estimate that the tranny is having problems so the insurance company doesnt screw me on that. It sounds like someone shaking a can of spray paint in my tranny when i let off the gas and its in gear??? I have never heard that sound until after this accident, also when coming to a stop the rpms dip so low the car almost dies, thats never happend before either? Who the hell knows, i hate this crap! Now my damn back is starting to hurt really bad, . I got hit by a new explorer so it shook me pretty good.

At this point im hoping its not totalled to be honest.......But at 4400 already i have no clue what they will say. If its not totalled the auto body shop said the insurance company will write me a check for the repair damage, so if i want i cant get aftermarket parts put on and they will install them ......Carbon fiber wingless trunk, different rear bumper, different tailights....etc So we'll see, its just been a horrible day and i love my car so much, it might not run to good all the time, but i still love this damn thing! At least i am probably starting a a new job next monday so thats good!
