parking brake troubles!!!!

recently my parking brake doesnt seem to wanna cooperate with me. with it disengaged, i can freely lift up on it about 2 inches (as in it feels like no cables are attached) then i feel minor resistance, much less than it was 2 weeks ago. its so weak that i cant park on a slight grade with out it rolling (i always keep it in gear tho, this was simply a test). its almost as if a cable snapped. i havent had time to take a look myself because im busy. happen to anyone else?

Mine seems really weak too. On my driveway it'll roll back unless I pull e-brake all the way up

Our parking brakes suck dick... end of story, my caliper locked up about a month ago around 19k and ruined rotor and pads so that was an expensive fix... but they worked with me considering its an 06 and barley out of warrenty. If anyone has a fix to make them better let me know. I have tried everything

i read somewhere that there is a bolt, 10mm i think, underneath the trim around the ebrake, that will tighten the cable if you tighten that bolt.
search and see if you find anything, i know i read about this before somewhere

If the ebrake is going to the top,Can be a indicator that the brake pads or shoes Are not compensating for the wear automatically.
Do your back brakes work in the rear fine,if not could also be the automatic brake pad adjuster isnt working properly.
and pad wear isnt being compensated for so then you have to pull the e-brake lever further as the pads or shoes wear.
The cables when new will stretch from the repeated tension and should be adjusted for cable stretch not pad wear..

well problem solved. it was the tightening nut on the handle itself. it kinda popped to become as loose as it was, almost as if that bolt was stripped. i tightened the nut and it holds nice and tightly now.
