235's look a bit chubby on a 7.5" rim. 225/45's are perfect IMO. I'm actually considering the black MSR 090
17x7.5's. I will get 225/45's. They are only 1/10" smaller than 225/40/18 tires. 235's also add 2-3lbs over 225's, so acceleration will be better with the slightly smaller in diameter and lighter 225's. The only way I would go to 235's is if you have a lot of power upgrades. Then you may actually benefit from the wider treads.

Here are some pics of 235/45/17 tires on 17x7.5 rims.

Get summer performance tires. All seasons suck for traction. Pick a tire with a tread wear rating below 300. I like the Nitto Invo 225/45'/17's. You can get a better quality 17" tire for the same price as a crappy 18" tire. That's what is attracting me to 17's right now! lol

Those will be REALLY sticky, but a wear rating of 160 means they won't last long. Try and stay between 200-300.

thats pretty wide man. i am putting 245's on 8.5" inch wheels. 225/40's look perfect on the stock SS/Sc rim in my opinion, so in a 7.5" inch a 225 or 235 would look great.
