View Full Version : TTP vs OTTP
06SS ALL DAY 02-13-2009, 01:35 PM Both companies are probably the best that I know of. OTTP for there sweet deals/group buys and some of there tuning is excellent also.
TTP is probably the best tuning in the tri-state area. i hear NOTHING but good remarks of their work and their pretty much 1st place all day everyday. i'm not knocking either companies performance or annyyything like that. just why does a reflash pcm from OTTP cost $125.00 and TTP is $300.00. I wouldnt of said nothing if there was a 50 dollar difference... but obviously the difference is huge. what does TTP offer that OTTP doesnt? please only people that used TTP and OTTP PCMS leave a comment. also a representative from TTP if you could PM me the differences/pros vs cons etc.. because i just got some cash in and i want to spend it the best way possible and get the best bang for my buck. i'm a very carefull spender basically
added: i don't want information on how good parts are etc... just PCM information.
MSHETZ 02-13-2009, 01:38 PM well from ttp your gettin a tune or can tune?
06SS ALL DAY 02-13-2009, 01:41 PM a can tune (not dynoed)
MSHETZ 02-13-2009, 01:43 PM lol goto ottp. maybe cuz you gotta put the tune on your car with ottp and with ttp if you go there they put it on there for you i dunno. but ottp is good stuff ....
Sizzle06 02-13-2009, 01:45 PM Josh and Sean from OTTP are on the ball when it comes to tuning, safe and reliable, they can tune anything thats possible to tune.If you have a problem with the tune, they are very quick to get back in touch with you to resolve any matters you may have.
06SS ALL DAY 02-13-2009, 01:46 PM i'll give TTP until i get back from lunch break to respond. otherwise OTTP is FTW. Thanks guy's and SHETZ come to the meet sunday night bro. gonna be lots of races for ish haha
blk ss/sc 1 02-13-2009, 01:50 PM ottp has done so many tunes for cobalts and i have yet to hear bad things.. just go with them , u wont regret it
MSHETZ 02-13-2009, 01:57 PM im tuned by ottp, good stuff .... im racing ish too
blue05ss/sc 02-13-2009, 02:01 PM im buying a stage kit within the next week and a half with my taxes i got a question about reliability whats the longest some 1 has had ottp stage 1 with the 60's and 2.8 and any problems?
buglio 02-13-2009, 02:06 PM TTP is the way to go he will give you what you want and are very good and should be no question about it call matt today 732 349 7800
06SS ALL DAY 02-13-2009, 02:19 PM alright well thanks guys. order is being prepared and i listed my mods in the comment line. pretty simple, i am removing my tq management, rev limit @ 7200 will shift at 7 (just don't want to hit the limiter and screw up a run)
D4u2s0t 02-13-2009, 02:22 PM TTP is the way to go he will give you what you want and are very good and should be no question about it call matt today 732 349 7800
what makes their canned tune worth twice the price though? what do they do different? or is it more expensive because of dyno time. the guy above said he wasn't getting a dyno with that price though.
recklessactn 02-13-2009, 02:23 PM TTP doesn't post up on the forums at all I believe, what exactly are you getting from TTP i work closely with TTP in modding my car. Are you just sending in your pcm to get tuned? or are you going there just for a tune, no dyno?
buglio 02-13-2009, 02:26 PM for a dyno tune at ttp it is 400 they are very good and do a lot of cobalts
D4u2s0t 02-13-2009, 02:33 PM for a dyno tune at ttp it is 400 they are very good and do a lot of cobalts
the question was what do they do different that there's is twice the price for a canned tune.
buglio 02-13-2009, 02:36 PM the answer is how fast and reliable your car will be when its done
D4u2s0t 02-13-2009, 02:37 PM the answer is how fast and reliable your car will be when its done
are you saying that the ottp's tune will not be fast and reliable though?
buglio 02-13-2009, 02:42 PM i am saying put the same amount of work on my car and i will get tuned by matt and you get tuned bye who u want , and lets race i will bet you that i will pull away anything else? and no i am not saying thatthey are bad turner
lsjwannabe 02-13-2009, 02:42 PM Really could not answer that on there be half. Maybe it does include something extra or maybe part of it is a core charge included. As far as tuning goes i have heard great things about them no complaints at all besides there dyno reading low becuase its a mustang .
As far as tuning experience goes on our side i want to say there are pretty close to 75~100 users running our kit with zero issue's not to mention other users we have tuned or helped tune. Just ask hatrickstu :)
D4u2s0t 02-13-2009, 02:56 PM i am saying put the same amount of work on my car and i will get tuned by matt and you get tuned bye who u want , and lets race i will bet you that i will pull away anything else?
i get that. but what do you have to back that up? you're not answering the question, your just saying things that anyone can say. what do they do that's better or different? simple question
SSdan 02-13-2009, 03:49 PM I didn't even know Matt did canned tunes...
D4u2s0t 02-13-2009, 03:59 PM I didn't even know Matt did canned tunes...
i didn't either. i know they do dyno tunes, and that's why it would be more expensive than a canned one.
recklessactn 02-13-2009, 06:39 PM I didn't even know Matt did canned tunes...
i know right, that y im confused 400 bucks gets you tuned on the dyno
SSdan 02-13-2009, 08:31 PM And he isn't even far away.
D4u2s0t 02-14-2009, 01:32 AM i know right, that y im confused 400 bucks gets you tuned on the dyno
see, that's more realistic. 400 for a dyno tune is not rediculous. but it's alot for a canned tune.
Black SS/SC 06 02-14-2009, 01:34 AM i know right, that y im confused 400 bucks gets you tuned on the dyno
thats about right depending on where you go
SSdan 02-14-2009, 02:35 AM To be honest, with Matt's tune my car felt the way it did last summer on nitrous. Never got to use the nitrous yet but it would have been an animal.
Only thing I could not stand was my gas mileage. 175miles per tank, zero boost. Car ran stupid rich under part throttle.

that's big v8 territory
SSdan 02-14-2009, 11:44 AM Yea I know. The DIC said i'd be getting 26+mpg. Yea my ass.
Black08SSTC 02-14-2009, 04:03 PM Go to tune time performance. Matt knows what hes doing and backs his shit up. They take their time on cars too. It took aloooooong time to dyno my SS/TC and he made sure i was happy first. ( i didnt want a crazy tune)
Joewit 02-14-2009, 04:14 PM Don't know about ottp but ttp did good for me and 400 for a dyno tune is a good price and a dyno tune is worth the extra cause I've had a canned tune and it sucked. and x2 on there dyno reading low, my modded srt-4 came up in the 220's i think on ttp's dyno
04redline0124 02-14-2009, 04:28 PM I lol at dyno tunes, do a fucking street tune dammit, nothing better then tuning in the conditions that your actually in, not some damn warehouse.

Thanks for asking about our tune's I can promise you we have done at least 250 lsj tune's... For those that ask or want to know we will deliver what you want .... Our flash tune is not canned it is built based on your requirement's and your mod's ... For $300 it's my time 45min to 1 hr if you want a canned flash tune the yes I will do it for $150 [ takes less the 5min of my time . ] it's on you + free updates or changes unless it's on the dyno then add $125 ... Our dyno reads low but our trap speeds always read high ...
drew1991sf 06-17-2009, 02:30 PM wtf is tunetimeperformance?
ludicristSS 06-17-2009, 02:46 PM wtf is tunetimeperformance? TTP ? Is it that hard ?
drew1991sf 06-17-2009, 03:48 PM i meant like i havent heard of it b4.....
rallycobalt06 06-17-2009, 03:52 PM Tune Time Performance.... they are a performance shop out of Toms River, NJ. the reason you've never heard of them is because you're on the other side of the country
drew1991sf 06-17-2009, 03:53 PM ya more than likely, they dont have many parts on their site either
SmokinSamSC06 06-17-2009, 03:55 PM ottp tune sux imo my buddy got his tune from ottp and it sucked car bogged, ran like shit, we had to go to a guy across state to get it tuned correctly!
rallycobalt06 06-17-2009, 04:00 PM they aren't like OTTP in the sense of a being a vendor... they dont sell parts. they can do custom parts and tune LSJs and they are pretty damn good at that. i've been to their shop quite a few times, i get custom dyno tuned there.
ottp tune sux imo my buddy got his tune from ottp and it sucked car bogged, ran like shit, we had to go to a guy across state to get it tuned correctly!
oh wow.... i'm really sorry to hear that.
lsjwannabe 06-17-2009, 04:03 PM ottp tune sux imo my buddy got his tune from ottp and it sucked car bogged, ran like shit, we had to go to a guy across state to get it tuned correctly!

Thats funny I ran that tune for over 6 months and it was fine. Ran a 13.7@106 and still was getting 30+ on the highway
daythecountrydied21 06-17-2009, 04:06 PM Not to be a dick but TTP is behind more than one pop pop engine....ottp = win in that department.
rallycobalt06 06-17-2009, 04:10 PM Not to be a dick but TTP is behind more than one pop pop engine....ottp = win in that department.
i guess you can say i am one of those engines, but i DO NOT blame TTP at all. i blame myself because i completely understand what happened, i modded wrongly and screwed it up. its a long story that i dont feel like typing out. but in "our" area (PA, MD, DE, & NJ) TTP is the absolutely best tuning solution for a custom dyno tune.
daythecountrydied21 06-17-2009, 04:12 PM I'd take an ottp canned tune before their dyno tune...I'd bet that over 80% of the lsj community drivers/tuners use the ottp as either a final or starting tune to tweak anyways...
rallycobalt06 06-17-2009, 04:17 PM it's all in what you want. i'm friends with both... TTP & OTTP. i honestly prefer a dyno tune over a canned tune. because with a dyno tune.... you get to see exactly what your car/engine is doing right there on the computer screen and can be adjusted on the stop. as where with a canned tune.... you have to send out your pcm everytime you change something on your setup or have someone come in with HPT and tweak the tune. now if i was "baller" enough i'd drive to OTTP to get a custom dyno tune... but the weather & altitude is completely different out there as where for me TTP experiences the same type of weather and everything as i do. so like i said.... it's all in what you want.
