i was wondering the same thing, but IMO, GM should merge the Aveo and Cobalt into the Cruze to save money on producing 2 affordable ecoboxes, why waste your money on production of 2 cars that do basically the same thing? MPG+Affordable=Cobalt LS/Aveo, offer the Cruze in a Sedan and Hatchback.

There will be a 2 door Cruze but thats not it. We are going to be able to build 6 differant models of the Cruze. I was just told Friday. As i get more info from the guys at the stamping plant i will advise. We will be building test products in April. Maybe get some production pics.

There was talk of making a 2-dr aveo. Guessing thats what that is.

If Chevy makes that they deserve to go under. That is seriously the most horrid thing I have ever seen.

As mentioned earlier, it looks like the Chevy Beat Concept or Chevy Spark(whatever you want to call it). It's smaller than the Aveo. I believe it is going to be sold in Europe and Asia, but not in the U.S. because something about not meeting safety standards...yet.

Of course it doesn't meet safety standards...that thing is so damn small if you get hit by a bike messanger, your shit is totalled. God forbid you get into a throwdown with say...an F-350 in that thing. They'd just have to make a car sized casket seeing as how they'd never get you out of it and just bury you and the car as a team

xp8ntball is correct, that is the chevy beat concept car. There is a production version called the spark, which is a 4 door. It WILL be coming to the US to compete with fit, yaris, etc.

GM Performance knows that we want a Cruze SS and that we'd like it to look like that. I suggested that they use the LNF with the stage 1 kit as its stock engine to cut cost.

Fail. That 2 door is NOT a Cruze, let alone any production vehicle. The Chevy Spark is the 4 door version of the pic in the OP. What you see there is the Chevy Beat and it is a concept.

When i go to work this afternoon i will ask the plant supervisor if the are only doing special orders.We ride motorcycles hes a good dude. Also the loading dock for the motors is near me and i have not seen any turbo motor blocks unloaded since DEC. They usually stock pile the blocks prior to us building them because we do about 400 per shift. They might be saving money on parts. The turbo blocks are a special order for us. They might be waiting to get a large SS order in. So if you ordered a SS dont hold your breath to get it on time. I will post the info tonight when i get home around 1am.

Also talked to union rep last night. The Cruze is still on track and GM told them the Cruze is a major priority to turn the company around. They now have the ability to build 6 different models from this platform in our plant. Which i am guessing SS coupes and sedans even might be a convertible in the mix.

Yeah, for that being "photochopped" It sorta reminds me of like a BMW 3 series... So for being a FWD Chevy sub-compact and if it does look like that I'd get one for sure...

I do wonder if they'll change the back end or leave it the same like they did with the Cobalt for the Coupe though... Anyways can't wait to see it.

Well i just got home from Cobalt heaven and per Plant Supervisor he told me no turbos are being built until more orders are recieved sorry guys. I will keep you up dated.

The Camaro SS will be the last SS until GM gets their head above the water..

Until then we have to deal with this shit...beat, spark, cruze, volt FTL.

Well good news for the guys that want turbos. They pulled me off line putting trannys on to build TURBOS. A truck came in today with the blocks but no cars built yet. I built 20 turbos tonight. They told me to build them till the racks are empty. I am on 1 week on 1 week off. So i will call the dayturn guy next week to get his total of what he built. I think the way everbodies talking we are building them till the models change to the Cruze. But they are waiting to get big orders before building them. The Turbos are hard to build. They are all on the same line as the G-5 and Cobalts 2dr 4 dr. You have to watch the build sheet to make the car that is ordered.
