Intense Racing or GM?

I have the 07 SS/SC cobalt and am wanting to do a stage kit. I was looking at the stage 4 from intense racing and was wondering if anyone has ran it or heard things about it from other people. Also, how does it compare to the stage 2 from gm? I know its more hp and tq, but is it as reliable as i have not heard alot of this company before. Any info or thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Bryce

Get a custom tune. I've heard too many horror stories from mail order intense tune.

The boxed tune from Intense is iffy at best. You will have no problems with the OTT tune.

getting anything dyno'd is 20x better than a canned tune. dyno is the absolute perfect way to keep your car safe. however dyno's can tune your car more different than you expect. MOST dyno shops tune the car for stricly racing and not daily driving or what have you... make it clear to the tuner that you drive the car daily. or you street race, etc... otherwise you will have a drag set up. thats why many people buy there own HPT tuning device. so they have the freedom to tweek there a/f or timing etc.. for racing at the track, driving to work, street racing, autocrossing....

mmmm, dyno is a good tuning device, but road tuning is the best IMO.

ok so i just bought a 2007 cobalt ss s/c today too..(i ******* love it!)...i wanted to get a ott kit but i looked at the pulley and the car came with a intense stage 3 pulley(2.9)!!!!....so im guessing it has the whole stage kit....so my questions is since you guys say intense canned tune sucks....could i just get a 2.8 pulley, 60's , and a dyno tune and be alright??????????

You will never get a better tune that the one tailored for your specific car. $300 on the street or dyno for a few hours by far outdoes only $100 for a mail order. Proof is in the pudding.

Yes. Intense makes great parts, as well as most companies. But it's all in the person behind the PCM editor.

Intense is garbage I have intense stage 3 kit and the tune is horrible... Just sent pcm out to pcmforless and they did a great job on my tune and it runs 50 times better and 50 times faster
