avro206 03-23-2006, 11:58 PM I have heard that Race City "Secret Street" will be opening on April 14th.
Like to see some people bring their Cobalts out and run them. Be curious to see what they do at our high elevation.
Anyone in?
i'll have to see where im at but im going to be there eventually lol

Funny, I noticed no difference in engine response when I was in Calgary this past January, obviously there is a difference beween preception and reality though, only a timeslip will tell.

A time slip has told. And there is a difference. Calgarys air density is usually over 5000ft on any given day.
I raced a bone stock 88 305 170hp TBI/auto/2.73 IROC at Race City. 17.0@80mph.
Went to Edmonton and raced at Budpark 16.5 sec.
Lost 0.5
Go down to sea-level and she ran a 16.2 at St Thomas Dragway in Ontario.
Its mostly on the top end you notice. Although when in Ontario the car could spin the tires at a 5km/h roll.
I would expect to runa 15.7 or better at Budpark. (I'll have the Injen CAI on by then)
Jekyl 03-26-2006, 07:20 PM I will be there, I was called out to race by a guy who claims he has the fastest N/A RSX-S in Alberta.

Is it a white one? If so he's a pretty nice fellow, I've chatted with him a few times.
Hopefully Secret Streets is a go on the 14th. :poke:

Yeah I heard he is a nice guy too.
I chat with him through email.
He made a post on ************* officially calling em out lol.
I ordered Stage 2 today so I will have that installed for when I race him.
Although im pretty sure I could take him with just my intake and exhaust. (If i can get off the line decently that is)
......................
Last night, me and two buddies who both one 5.0L mustangs drove out to the boonies to race. I used to own an 89 GT so thats how I know these guys. Anyways, we raced 4 times from a stop and I won 3 outta 4 times by a couple car lengths at about 160 km/h. The one race i lost becuase i gave too much throttle off the bat and just sat and spun while he took off.
........................
ANyways, they guy with the RSX, me and him both dynoed 196 hp at tecmotion. i had 177 TQ and he had like 143 TQ i think. Oh yeah, I was stock and he is quite modified.

See, I knew it! Calgary sucks!!!! :p:
J/K!!!
Come down to Bud and I'll join you! My work schedule makes it really hard for me to go down to Calgary on the weekends! By the time I'd get there it would be dark.
We'll show you Cowtown red-necks how we do it in the capital city! ;)

Sorry to spam the Calgary thread but...
The Edmonton guys are planning a meet for a Sunday night this month at about 7:00pm. It will be either the 9th, 16th, or 23rd of April.
So far, it has been agreed that we will meet at Boston Pizza (170St - 90Ave), next to the mall. We have one member from Calgary who will be in town ont he 16th for Easter, so if any of you other Calgarians are going to be down you are welcome to attend. Please be advised that at the time of this post, all this is still tentative!
Here is our thread: http://www.cobaltss.net/forums/showthread.php?t=15693
And now, back to the regular programing........

Thanks. I remember chatting with you, the silver srt-4 right?
I remember you made some excellent progress with your times that night.
Hope to see you out there.

Not sure if we met???
I know there were about 4 out the night I chatted.(Aug.5/05)
I raced wolverine, ran a 14.3 to his 14.8. Super nice guy.
I don't think he was modded though...
I also raced a copper one the week before, anyone know him???(my 14.5 to his 15.3)
He was stock, talked to him. Love the colour.
Then, got spanked by the guy who has the stg.3 with dr's(his 13.8 to my 14.4):bye:
He's a real nice guy, has the insane sleeper 300zx also.
Typically, race city is at least 4/10ths slower. About 2 for air, and 2 for traction. It's more on some cars, slightly less for those
that are well set-up on slicks etc.
There was a 2.4L SS out last year late, ran 15's all night, mostly high 15's, a 16, but I think his best was 15.7???
Not sure. I was impressed, pretty good for n/a.
Anyways, the nice cobalt guy I called out has some good mods now, so it should be a good race.
I'm making about 10whp more than last year, so 13's at race city are feasable with a great launch.
Hope to see you all there.
N/ADC5 04-11-2006, 11:29 PM No racing until the 21st.
What a load....:cussing:

I concour. I raced at Race City and Bud Park and my 88 Camaro lost 0.5 of a second.
Thanks for the heads up on the "new" opening night. I live in NW and you saved me almost an hour of driving!:twothumbs
N/ADC5 04-12-2006, 09:57 PM No sweat.
See you next week-end!!!
anyone want to meet up on friday anyway and take some photo shots and maybe dinner?

yeh you met me.. i have the blue one with the c/f bonnet...
i ran constant 13.7s-13.8s with a personell best of 13.6@106 at race city last year...
N/ADC5 04-17-2006, 09:29 AM Ok, cool.
Yeah, remember now. You were the fastest one there, except Shaun's with stg.3 and dr's.
You had the hood, and the painted calipers(or swap).
N/ADC5 04-17-2006, 10:23 PM Just met Jekyl, great guy!:cssNET:
His car with the stg.2 and cai/exhaust is really fast, faster than my car.
The sound of the s/c is so addictive, I love it.
Might have bought this car if it were out when I was looking...
The interior is very nice, especially with the blue door inserts.
This will be a great race, I will likely have an advantage on the first one because of seat time, and drag-orientated mods.
This track is at 3500ft, so don't expect miracles from Jekyl's car.
Getting 100mph is an accomplishment at this altitude, and I think he can do it.
