View Full Version : Pulley Puller For Rent!!!
ninja44 03-24-2006, 07:37 PM I have a Pulley puller for anyone in the GTA that needs to use one but doesn't want to buy one. It's a killer tool and heavy as hell. Will rent out for beer:lol: , only in the GTA!!! Can a Mod make this a sticky for this section?
Permafried- 03-24-2006, 08:55 PM Well you could always make the trip down to London, let Keith and C7 borrow your pulley puller (why does that sound so dirty?) and then head out for the night...just a suggestion, now I'm throwing away their money .

Time's runnin' short for Western...school's done in under a month! Then the depressing summer starts where "scenery" is all but non-existant :(. Let's see if the other guys reply to this thread or not...there's def. loads of room for you to park your car and crash here for the night if the "Western raid" falls thorugh .

You've got that right, since the weather has been getting nicer there's no shortage of them on the roads. Hell I was beside a Civic who's exhuast was so loud the other day I couldn't even hear my friggin' engine when I started rolling from the light. I decided to prove my point and redline it through each gear (staying just slightly over the speed limit of course) telling myself I needed to blow out the car anyways. If you make it down I might just have to switch it up from Vodka to beer for the first time since I can remember...bring on the brutal hangover !

Whoa whoa whoa...u've failed to mention these "Western girls" in the past...no need to be selfish now spread the wealth to your fellow Cobalt owners .
Ang, I'm not really sure what you got "pulley puller" confused with but I probably don't want to know either ;).
ninja44 03-28-2006, 07:12 PM If you guys can get the timing right and get like 2 or 3 cars together for a pulley swap I'll drive over to London and switch em out for you peeps. Western girls hmmm (.)(.)

Mine is Comming From SFPH ... as soon as the size is exchanged ... there customer service has been great so I will recomend them ...
as for size of your pulley ...go 3.0 (you might as well go the smallest safe route to make it worth it) you can allways swap later on(when you get fuel mods/stg kits)... and you wont need a puller next time you swap if you go with a hub system
(PS. I went 3 ")
Permafried- 03-29-2006, 09:48 AM This weekend is clear for me but the one after I wouldn't be able to make it downtown after if that was the plan. It's my friend's bday and if I don't show up I'll most likely have an additional extremity under my nose the next time you see me since she wouldn't be too happy with me :guns:. I've also been talking to a friend of mine with an SRT-4 (met a few of them last summer) and we thought it might not be a bad idea to get a more general meet going over the next month or so and I was going to try to figure something out before you take off in case you wanted to head to that as well :).
c7015 03-29-2006, 09:54 AM I wouldn't mind meeting up with some SRT folks with my new pully on ...
34 days left till I leave

Why do I have a feeling we'd be heading from the meet to Sparta and forcing them to open their gates ? They're a good group of guys and didn't have any problems discussing the pros and cons of each vehicle and took my roommate and I out for a spin afterwards. Was only a couple there last time but I'd assume with spring just arriving most people will be chomping to get a meet together.
I'll start trying to figure dates out and my buddy will handle rounding them up on the SRT forums. I'm leaning towards the weekend of April 15th but for some reason that date is drilling at my head so I gotta make sure things are clear and that you guys will have your pulleys on by then. Poor me...I'll be the only N/A car at the meet (unless my buddy shows up in his spec-v)...I'll have to race all of you in reverse!

14th works for me ..give me plenty of time to do the pulley mod and Airbox

I'm assuming you meant the 15th and missed the 5 . I'll wait for Keith and Jody to check the date over then I'll forward a message off to Martin and he can get things figured out with the SRTs. Guess we could start an "official meet" thread at that point in case anyone else in the general area is interested in making it down. We'd discussed meeting at the Parts Source on Dundas and Highbury since one of the guys works there so we're pretty much guranteed not to get tossed but if there's too many people we'll be whoring the whole lot!

KAOS Kid 03-29-2006, 03:44 PM damn! I'll make the trip just for the party!
am I too late for that?

Once I've figured things out with a couple more members I'll be posting a thread with the details such as date, location, etc. so people can look into it and sign-up if they're interested. We need a general idea of how many will be showing up since if there's a large number here as well as on the SRT forums we'll have to switch locations. The damned weather better not work against us though...I only made it to one meet in TO last year since I woke up to rain on more than one occasion and c7015 is running outta time .

no doubt trout ... 34 days and counting ..only 19 work days left ... now you can see why I am soo anxious to get this pulley on ...so I can drive it once before I store my car ...
by the time I get back maybe we will ahve stage kits ..
kissmySS 03-29-2006, 04:54 PM Those dates work for me!....now i need to get my ass in gear and get that pulley....!
c7015 03-29-2006, 05:00 PM did you decide on a Size ??
I was going to get the 2.8 and add a boost controller to keep the boost in check and then raise it when I got the stage one injectorss and reflash but opted out of it becasue I dindt want to have to order the tensioner seperatly ...
Permafried- 03-29-2006, 05:03 PM Hell by the time you get back maybe I'll decide what exactly I wanna do to my car if anything...still on the fence on this one. Apparenlty the winter didn't help me one bit, god damn indecisiveness :nono:. Keith...if you're waiting for an invitation to order that pulley consider this it...I'm not gonna mail you the damn thing .
kissmySS 03-29-2006, 06:38 PM prolly get 3.......2.8, 2.9, 3.0 thats what im thinking atleast.....
ninja44 03-29-2006, 07:31 PM April 15th is no good for me, I'll be at Cayuga smacking Toyota's around all day. Maybe you guys can come to Cayuga on the 15th? Let me know a solid date and I'll drive to London and do the deed for you guys and maybe I can get a lil caravan from T/O. to come out.
keeper51 03-29-2006, 07:52 PM Well i'm sure I can anytime, except for the last weekend of April as that will be the moving weekend to KW for me so. I don't see many people from KW on here posting, I think I might havta try and spark some interest in the twin cities as I know there are lots of cobalts driving around.

Damn it...scratch one date . I think Martin and I would have an uphill battle on our hands talking everyone into heading to Cayuga for the day but I guess you never know. I was trying to pick a Saturday so if you and anyone in the "caravan" felt like crashing overnight in London and raiding downtown it would be left as an option. Maybe once everyone has their pulleys in (and ordered *cough* Keith :poke:) it would be easier to pick a final date...just trying my best to give everyone a week or two to make sure nothing crops up :twothumbs.

Hmm my question is, Western girls, or Cayuga girls???? that is the question here lol

What about the 16th ... not that the weather is ever right more than 2 days in advance but its looking like a morcle of a weekend right now ... and it gives some people lots of time to get their pullies ...

The 16th works for me...after this weekend I think I'm in the clear. We might like to make it sometime in the afternoon though in case the Saturday ends up being a late night for any of us (which for me is almost a gurantee...yes I'm being selfish ). I'll keep my eyes on the thread so I can let my buddy know what's up...I still haven't given him a final date to round everyone else up.

yeah afternoon is key ... I can almost ensure that I wont be up at the crack of dawn ... that being said I will make it to whatever time a pulley puller can make its way to my car no matter how early ... so whatever is convenient for Ninja

If Sean were to make the trip down we should probably make it around the same time as when we met up in TO last summer so he can beat most of the traffic on the 401. It was clear for us when we hit Mississauage around 10ish and heading back around 2:00 wasn't too bad either though traffic was somewhat heavier by then. Once outside of the GTA (and especially past Cambridge) it cleared up substantially.
c7015 04-04-2006, 10:36 AM bump for ninja ???
Permafried- 04-04-2006, 02:19 PM I guess we kinda have two threads going on at once...just because I'm such a nice guy I'll link to the London one http://www.cobaltss.net/forums/showthread.php?t=15176&page=4. Sean...we were thinkin' the 16th since you're gonna be busy on the 15th at Cayuga, let us know :twothumbs.
