SS/SC rear bumper extension

Does anyone know where I can get the ss/sc rear bumber ground affects extension. Is there anyway you can get them painted before shipping?

Thanks

You need to have the SS rear bumper to fit that rear lip on first.
It won't fit on a non-SS cobalt

Yes it is...if you look at the rear of the two, they are different, and not just due to the lip extension.

I'm not sure where you could find part numbers, but if the numbers are different then it wouldn't work. I know the SS S/C bumber and lip extension have 2 different numbers, so it could be possible they are the same as a SS NA, but i doubt it.

Dude that is a pic of the SS not SC ....THe SS 2.4 Has its own style rear bumper then the 2.0 SS/SC .....If you look close at the bumper of the supercharged it dosent have that lower extension of the 2.4 if the bottom lip had been takin off

Look at the orange SS/SC pic that was posted....NOw take away the bottom lip and you have a BAse stocked bumper....Theres a kid on Car-Domain who did that to his 2.2 with just the bottom lip

The SC Lower Lip will fit on the NA/24/SS bumper. If you want that lip on your LS then you gotta get the SS/NA or SS/SC bumper put on first. This is what my dealer told me, and from what I know from other people that have done it themselves.

My dealer could be wrong though, so I would just go to yours, tell them what you want and they will give you what you need. It is the only way to get a real answer.

I actually believe that it will fit perfectly on the ls stock bumpers. I just watched an episode of redlinetv weher they put the ss body kit on a ls, and I know that they didn't chsnget the from bumper cause it had the ls grill, i'm assuming that they didn't change the back either. I would like to get a ss kit for my lt, how would I order one?

It wasn't an SS/SC body kit it was the GTX kit from gm accessories. Thats what I saw, but I might be completely wrong.

I am almost %100 positive it is not an exact fit. I know this because of the aftermarket rear bumper lips for the 2.2 base model won't fit on the SS/SC bumper. Also, the SS/SC bumper without the lip is still lower than the 2.2 base bumper

I don't see what the problem is. I like the look of the ss kit, but I'd never use the performance. Why not get the kit if you like it? Who cares what anyone else thinks, It's YOUR car, not theirs. I love the look, but I couldn't see myself paying etxra for a sc that I'll never even take advantage of.

There is not a GTX body kit. The GTX package comes with Rims, Tires, a Spoiler, Body Graphics, A Interior Badge, A Window Decal and a keychain. It's the SS/SC kit.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to be a dick about it. I never really understood the GTX package. Here's the contents list from the website:

The Cobalt GTX packages includes: SS spoiler, chrome exhuast tip, 16" wheels (4 each), 16" tires (4 each), center caps (4 each), chrome lug nuts, locking lug nuts, valve stems, chrome grille and door handles, custom keychain and GTX badging.

Why is this package over $3,000?

Because it's GM, and a 16 year old looking at an LS will think it's a cool look.

I did a write up on this issue several months ago. See the thread.

Coupe Facia Compatibility

The SS model coupes (2.0 or 2.4) have the same front and rear facias. The only difference is the lip they use. Yes, they are interchangable.

The base and LS model coupes (2.2) have a different facia. You can not put SS lips on it. You CAN put and entire SS Facia on a base or LS, and they you can put the lip on that. People have already done this successfully.

The Sedans are a completely different car.
