I ordered the Premium Drilled/Slotted Rotors a couple of days ago. I'll have them installed in 2-3 weeks
This guy Steven has tons of happy customers just look at his ebay feedback. They must be good quality rotors

just helps keeping them cool, when you buy both slotted and cross drilled, they are the best for keeping it cool..
some one correct me if i'm wrong.

I've read from another site that when the rotors are drilled it causes stress on the metal and they start to crack or damage after a while. How true is this?

To be honest with you sir, I do not like bashing other companies or saying mines is better then yours kind of deal. I do sell two types of rotors, the Eline series and the Premium series. My Eline series are the all silver zinc rotors which you would see mostly on Ebay or from other companies, the common ones etc. My Premiums are my best line of rotors. Stronger iron cast with a 50/50 center split for better heat distribution.

Well drilled holes help with the distribution of heat throughout the rotors. helps to eliminate heat spots which is one of the main reasons for premature warping. It also helps with glazing and besides it looks nice.(Opinions may vary) Slots help with the braking power. When brake pads come in contact with the rotor, it reacts like friction for the rotors to help stop the vehicle, kind of like tread on a tire.

It also depends on how big the holes are being drilled, are they drilling in between each vane structure?, and are the holes countersunk? All my Premium series rotors drilled with small diameter holes similar to Stoptech, Rotora, Brembro etc. All my holes are countersunk and drilled in between vane structures to lessen the chance of stress cracks. To be honest with you, having a rotor that has no holes will always be stronger then a rotor with holes.

If you do not want drilled, we can change the drilling pattern to slotted only or somthing because R1 does the drilling for you. We are the main dudes.

Sounds good to me... I'll be waiting! I want slotted/crossed drilled and some pads that don't make so much dust. Its gonna be sweet to have the rotors behind the stock wheels... Nice big open holes in the wheel to see the rotors.

I'm interested, but I don't know the difference between the Hawk and the Posi Quiet pads. Is one better for daily driving? Does one produce less brake dust?

I had a set of R1Concepts drilled and slotted rotors on my 2002 Impala. They were great! They didn't rust, looked great, and provided a noticeable improvement in stopping power. I hope the Cobalt/G5 ones are just as good!

Both pads are considered low dust and noise. However, the Posi pads are just a tad bit lower in dust and noise but the Hawks stop better and cost a bit more.

Thanks for your previous purchase of the Impala. If you ordered the Premiums then this will be just as good. If you ordered Elines previously then these rotors are going to be an improvement because of better construction. About rust, the rust protection on the Premiums is only applied on the hub, inner vane structures and outer rim of the rotor. To completely cover the whole rotor in rust prevention coating, use high temp paint and spray the whole rotor and let it dry before installing. Once installed let the pads do the rest by rubbing off the excess of paint.
