Carbon Fiber hood info...
Greetings. I'm in the market for a new carbon fiber hood. I was considering the Invader 2 hood from Cobalt Addiction. Can anyone give me some information on the quality of fitment and overall fading of carbon fiber hoods? I've heard some mixed facts and I would like to know the truth. Any input would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.
ViS hoods are one of the best CF hoods made with top quality CF and sealed with UV protection resin and clear coat which will help against fading. I would highly recommend any of the ViS hoods. I have the G-Speed model and love it. However you may want to consider a different vendor. Numerous members have been having issues with CA
The hood I originally wanted has been on backorder 2 months in a row. Kenny from C-Addiction has been working with me closely on helping me find a different hood in stock to suit my needs. I'm hoping for the best and I'll let everyone know how it works out.
As for the fading of carbon fiber hoods, i'm under the impression that this is quite common. Is this something that can be avoided by applying UV protective wax periodically? I wax my car at least once a month and I would apply a protective UV wax to my hood every week if needed.
Also, I've heard that carbon fiber hoods are prone to fitment issues. Does anyone think this is something I need to worry about? I don't want to have to make any major mods to make this hood fit.
Thanks all, for your input.
