Tire life
Tire life
what are people seeing for life on stock contis i just rotated them today and there a 1/16 of an inch difference from to back at 2500 miles. just trying to see what kind of life i can expect and i do drive pretty agressive
they suck.... plan on getting tires early, I got lucky(I guess, lol) in that my front end was unaligned and had a bad wheel bearing... caused one of my tires to get some real bad wear on the inside of it(and I had a pull to the left at highway speeds)... they replaced all 4 tires at about 4500 miles.... the fronts were already in need of rotating, probably past due....
one year of the Spec-V Sentra had continentals on it, the day I bought my car my friend who used to own a Spec-V Sentra with those tires saw my tires and said "those won't see 10,000 miles"...........I thought he was exaggerating, but I think he may just be right

AZ must have gentle roads or something, because my ss/sc got over 32k on the stock Pirelli's, with room to spare, and I've put 10k on these Conti's, and they still have plenty of tread left.
Or maybe I really am a Sunday driver.

I have 15k miles on mine and it looks like i might get another 10k out of them. Then again I forgot about getting the stage kit so it will be less than 10k. Not saying I have the stage kit just saying I will.
I wanted to get all-seasons as early as possible, but it sounds like I can just use the stock Conti's until they wear out.
Is there a tendency for the fronts to wear out faster than the rear in normal driving? What about the sidewall edges on the fronts? The few SS/TC's I've seen in the dealer lots all have noticeable wear on the outer edges of the front, no doubt from fast turns.

Front always wear faster on front wheel drive - hence the need to do regular rotations. As for side wear, that does depend on your driving style, but also on your maintenance - keep them properly filled and your wear should be relatively even.
I believe the manual provides estimated lifespan of the Continentals, if I remember correctly it was somewhere in the range of 25,000km. That's about 15,000 miles, so peoples numbers are pretty much in line with what it communicated.
rears at 8k are GREAT, fronts are down to the worn indicator things and I have 2 1/4 runs and a few sick burn outs under my belt lol with all the power I am making now I use to spin the **** outa them but now I am easy untill i get some sick tires
