NEW DATE SET for May 16th, 2009

Well, me jasongrace16 were talking about this last week, and I decided to go ahead and get a thread up for it to get the ball rolling.

Theres a guy who lives out near Vint Hill who has a dyno in his garage. He's well known in the Northern VA area for HP Tuners tuning F-body cars/Vettes, so he's a legit guy. For more information, visit his website at: www.needperformance.com

Anywho, Jason talked to him last week and he agreed to do a reduced price dyno session for us locals IF we can get at least 6 cars there. Once we get 6 cars, we can schedule a date/time to make it happen. Also, he might be moving his dyno from his garage to an actual facility in Warrenton, which will be located across the street from Burger King.

The address is 6540 Vint Hill Road Warrenton, VA 20187 in case any non-locals want in on this and are wondering how far from them it will be.

The price will be $50 for 3 pulls, which is a fantastic price. I highly encourage anyone in the Fauquier County (and surrounding counties) area to get in on this!

The sooner we get at least 6 cars on the list, the sooner we can do this.

Ok, I updated the list, and hung out with Chase today and washed cars, and he said he's definitely down. Also, our friend Phil will probally come with his HHR SS. Chase also supplied me with the guy's website, which is listed in the original post now.

So we have 6+ cars now, now we just gotta set a date/time :)

My roomate, who installed nearly every aftermarket part on my car, could likely do it for you. If you insist on having a shop do it, check out www.ptuning.com. They're a great shop.....the things that my roomate didn't install, I had PTuning install. They're the only people besides my best friends I trust to work on my car.

Yea I think I am going with the Baer brake kit w/ rotors, calipers and picking up some Hwk pds. I just don't know many people up here and I can def. do pads but never have replace rotors.

I suppose. I wouldn't really know to be honest b/c they are the only shop i've really ever been to for installs, and I swear by them. But I mean you get what you pay for, and they're definitely a trustworthy shop.

As have I. Oddly enough.....they did my brakes. I purchased my Powerslot rotors/Hawk HPS pads from them.......and it just so happened that the day I went to pick them up, I asked them if they were busy, and since they weren't, I just had them install them there on the spot.

Trying to keep it primarily Cobalt or fellow Delta bodied cars. Like I said....this dyno is in some guy's garage as his house, so I don't want it too too big.

Plus, we all know that mixing Cobalts with SRT-4's at a dyno session would just turn into a "my dick is bigger than yours" contest :rolleyes:

That's cool, i know that, i didn't say i liked the needle dick srt guys, just asked if they could come, lol.... My next ride will be a Turbo Swapped LSJ or an LNF, and i will be gunning for them pesky little neons with it, lol.... The balts get no respect, sucks really, one of the fastest cars in our area is an srt swapped 2 door neon.. My brother in law has one he's putting together, thats really why i asked....

You should see what VADriven.com has to say about Cobalts. This girl on there traded her Celica GTS in on an '09 SS/TC........my god they had a field day with her. I've never seen so much hate for a Cobalt before.....and the SS/SC was clearly superior to her old Celica GTS.........

Sweet, well I am still on the fence about what I am going to get as far as my upgrade, but I really appreciate it. Like I said I have done brake pads but I have never done rotors and calipers. I guess I will let you know when I am getting parts. Either way we should meet sometime grab dinner or something in Winchester

For those of you who are unaware of this.......the Chic-fil-a in Dulles brings out about 150-200 cars a night on Fri/Sat nights.......everything you can imagine. Lambos.......twin turbo 350Zs........decked out EVOs/STIs......turbo'd Scions.....old school muscle cars......EVERYTHING. I'm rolling up with a few EVO buddies of mine.

How does everyone feel about April 4th? I know that if everyone is like me, your gonna wanna prep your car the best you can for some dyno pulls. I already got 5 quarts of Royal Purple and a can of Seafoam.........now all I need is some AEM dryflow filter cleaner. Gonna change the oil, clean the filter and Seafoam it next weekend. Plus, I start my new job on the 6th, and i'm not sure if i'll have weekends off or not.........so the 4th is the last Saturday I KNOW i'll be able to do this on. The 5th (Sunday) would work for me too........so lets just figure out whats good for everyone and go from there. Of course, Jason has to confirm if they guy can do this one of those two days as well.

As far as I know its $50/3 pull per person. But compare that to normal dyno prices elsewhere (PTuning charges $75/3 pulls).......its not a whole hell of alot cheaper.....but its cheaper nonetheless. Plus it'll be fun just hanging around with a bunch of Cobalt buddies, rather than sitting around at a shop while other customers come in and watch your car being dyno'd and proceeding to talk trash about it b/c "ew its a Cobalt".

so april 4th is not going to work out. i talked to the guy today and he said that, that week he is getting the dyno put into his shop and that he was told to let the concrete settle that weekend before using it... so we need to come up with another date

Don't know, i'll have to see how my money plays out over the next few months. I'll start getting commission after 90 days, and within 6 months i'll likely move to sales and make bank. I've also decided to go back to school since Comcast pays for it as long as its towards something for the company. I'm gonna go to NOVA (probably this fall) and take IT courses. I looked at their IT Certification program, and I already have 3 of the 26 required credits. I only need to take 8 classes (i'm thinking 2-3 a week....night classes) and I can get my IT certification.

ok so may 16th is the date and this is what we need to do....things have changed yet again and i tried talking to him about what he first said but he wouldnt budge. we need at least 10 people to sign up and pay ahead of time and the price will be 65 dollars now.. everyone needs to pay before the day and if you pay and can not show up there will be no refunds. if it rains we will reschedule. if there is a problem for people who goes first it will be decided on who pays first.... to pay you can either go to the shop and pay or pay via paypal.. his pay pal is ls1tech@comcast.net... his shop is located in warrenton across the street from burgerking next to frosts diner. if you have any questions you can pm.....we need at least 10 people to sign up and pay ahead of time
