INDColtsFan18 03-18-2009, 04:54 PM "And here’s hoping we’ll also be treated to a 260-hp SS version powered by the fire-breathing, turbocharged 2.0-liter Ecotec engine, although GM’s High-Performance Vehicle Operations have been put on hold. " We can only hope, This is the only thing that will save this little machine that is nothing compared to the great Cobalt SS. umrdyldo 03-18-2009, 05:00 PM http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/sedans/112_0903_2010_chevrolet_cruze_drive/index.html superchargedman 03-18-2009, 05:03 PM Sorry for the re-post. Thought there was only the motor trend and a euro mag review. RBC 03-18-2009, 05:07 PM WOW! were is the aggressive styling!? The interior IMO looks pretty good but the out side to me is pretty bland and boring. Looks like shit. I hope it does well, but just not my taste. I have lost allot of respect for C&D over the last year or 2 and defiantly with there thoughts on this car. umrdyldo 03-18-2009, 05:09 PM Sorry for the re-post. Thought there was only the motor trend and a euro mag review. Nah it's okay no one really cares about repost. It's just a way for us to vent our daily frustration. Cobalt08LS 03-18-2009, 09:22 PM imo i dont like it at all! DarkSergeant 03-18-2009, 10:39 PM Thought we knew there was no SS? Btw, what's up with the G5? Anybody know? Only *future* vehicle Pontiac.com has is the sexy ass Solstice Targa. Maybe hope for a G5 replacement performance edition.. SedanMan08 03-18-2009, 10:52 PM I don't like it. the front looks okay, the back is horrid. the Interior looks nice. but in my vote it gets a big fat... FAILL!!! Billig ss/sc 03-19-2009, 12:24 AM Front (for a 'base' model) and inside look really good. Side is bland. Back is horrifically fugly. rockstar014 03-19-2009, 02:10 AM i dont like it... need the cobalt back clicknd 03-19-2009, 09:01 PM Thought we knew there was no SS? Btw, what's up with the G5? Anybody know? Only *future* vehicle Pontiac.com has is the sexy ass Solstice Targa. Maybe hope for a G5 replacement performance edition.. It has already ben said that they are canceling the g5 as well as the g6. All that will remain of Pontiac is the soltice and the g8. It will be GM's performance division. Blood Lucky Picnic 03-19-2009, 09:08 PM its sad that that is replacing the cobalt. the only thing i like about it is the interior. InitialG 04-01-2009, 08:56 PM yeah, looks dumb...it almost kinda looks like they ripped off the design of the new honda accord, the front and side view looks similar. Victory06 04-09-2009, 01:25 PM WOW! were is the aggressive styling!? The interior IMO looks pretty good but the out side to me is pretty bland and boring. Looks like shit. I hope it does well, but just not my taste. I have lost allot of respect for C&D over the last year or 2 and defiantly with there thoughts on this car. Which is more agressive? http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n195/Eric77TA/Picture2-4.png RBC 04-09-2009, 02:26 PM Maybe the cruze from the front but that's about it. To me that still doesn't look aggressive. If there wasn't a SS cobalt I wouldn't have bought one of those ether. I would still have to say from all other angles the cobalt looks better. I have always said the front of the cruze looks decent with the exception or the headlights. RuSSo-29 04-09-2009, 02:31 PM its sad that that is replacing the cobalt. the only thing i like about it is the interior. Thats funny, thats the only thing I think that sucks with the cobalt. hahahaha I like the front alot, and this is like looking at the base or LS cobalt's... the SS WOULD look much more sick, but it prob wont be made. So compair an LS/LT/LTZ Cobalt to this thing... and Cruze > Cobalt. RBC 04-09-2009, 02:36 PM Thats funny, thats the only thing I think that sucks with the cobalt. hahahaha I like the front alot, and this is like looking at the base or LS cobalt's... the SS WOULD look much more sick, but it prob wont be made. So compair an LS/LT/LTZ Cobalt to this thing... and Cruze > Cobalt. I think he means the interior of the cruze is the one he likes. Victory06 04-10-2009, 04:58 PM Maybe the cruze from the front but that's about it. To me that still doesn't look aggressive. If there wasn't a SS cobalt I wouldn't have bought one of those ether. And that's essentially the point I'm trying to make - we don't know what Cruze SS might look like so it's hard to judge that from a regular model. RBC 04-10-2009, 05:42 PM But even the regular model the cobalt looks better from all other angles. chris88z24 04-10-2009, 05:46 PM Holy Hyundai Elantra! Brenticus 04-10-2009, 06:06 PM as if this is better than a cobalt. BAH! i like the interior, but i'm still waiting on coupe concepts and maybe an ss concept if they ever get the performance division going again. the coupe needs a more cobalt-esque rear and a hood more like the g8, lower front and rear lip, better exhaust profile (maybe dual) and bigger wheels. if they did that i might like it. overall, i hate to see the cobalt go. just a nice little car that is sorely underrated. at least i got mine before they quit making them. and besides, the next cars we'll be getting will be larger 4 doors for the baby. we're looking at a G8 GT for my wife and i'm thinking a CTS-V for me years down the road. RBC 04-10-2009, 07:18 PM Holy Hyundai Elantra! My thoughts exactly! riko540 04-12-2009, 07:53 PM its sad that that is replacing the cobalt. the only thing i like about it is the interior. X2 I think should take that interior and stick it in the Cobalt instead of replacing the car all together. Tank07 04-12-2009, 08:04 PM should never have decided to ax the cobalt...........and no ss cruise........wow........if anything id get a volt or a used SS if i were gettin a new ride Adirondack_Cobalt 04-13-2009, 04:27 AM is there going to be a two door model or three door? There are still people out there, like me, who hate a sedan. isn't this car just a rebadged Chevy Lacetti/Daewoo Nubira? 40rty 04-13-2009, 04:38 AM "And here’s hoping we’ll also be treated to a 260-hp SS version powered by the fire-breathing, turbocharged 2.0-liter Ecotec engine, although GM’s High-Performance Vehicle Operations have been put on hold. " We can only hope, This is the only thing that will save this little machine that is nothing compared to the great Cobalt SS. UMMMMM I have a Cobalt SS/TC and love it, but just the way you put in "Cobalt being great" uhhhhhh no, still little flaws here and there, but boasting the LNF to be Fire-Breathing bahahaha. As for the cruze, I don't think GM's going to be around long enough to even make this thing. I'm sorry but its just going to be a big FAIL. It looks like they took a GLI squeezed it together and changed the headlights. Victory06 04-13-2009, 03:16 PM I'd be very curious to see if the criticism of this car was as heavy if it were called Cobalt. I'd bet it wouldn't be. On a few of the points made above - We still don't know if there will be a 2 door, but it's possible. When the Cobalt was first announced there was rumor that it would be sedan only. You know where that went. I think there will be an SS model with an LNF eventually, but there's probably not money to put into one right now. I don't really see anything that resembles an Elantra other than the horizontal taillights, which are shared with a lot of cars, including the Malibu. For those who don't want Chevy to replace the Cobalt at all, what was Chevy supposed to do? Keep the current body style forever? It's 5 years old, the oldest in its class by a good margin. It's a cool car, but everything's got to change sometimes. DeftonesFan867 04-14-2009, 07:56 PM UMMMMM I have a Cobalt SS/TC and love it, but just the way you put in "Cobalt being great" uhhhhhh no, still little flaws here and there, but boasting the LNF to be Fire-Breathing bahahaha. I guess you didn't read the review and just decided to comment on the styling which is purely subjective. Adirondack_Cobalt 04-24-2009, 09:25 PM What is a huge deal breaker for me is the coupe issue. I have never wanted a sedan and I don't particularly care for four doors... more whores and all... I don't have a family and my friends don't ride in my cars... I'm waiting to see if there will be a coupe version, or at least a hatchback. |
