Yes, cast aluminum. No, you can't just weld them, if you warp the blower housing at all, might as well throw it away.

Best bet if you don't want to fill the holes with some type of metal expoy ****, is to have some aluminum plugs made and welded in place. With some small careful stitch welds to hold them, it won't get hot enough to cause damage and it will be much more permanent than any JB weld or Quiksteel bullshit.

I want to do it but i have a fear of that **** fallin off. I can tig weld and have a welder but don't want to risk warping it either
