Insurence Companies are gay

So me and florence went out to Freedon Cycle to see if i can get approved for a 2008 Kawasaki Ninja ZX600. Well im approved for that with $0 down. Called a few insurence companies. Canex (which is the military store) wont insure the bike because its a sports bike and wont insure my car because of the mods i have. Called RBC, they gave me some bs that i need a class 6 license (motor bike) for 4 years, i only have 2 years. And they also will not insure the car because of the mods. Bah!

Yeah most insurance companies wont insure you if you rmod your car, you really do have to lie. If you dont they will rape you on the price. As for the bike I pay 600 a year for insurance.

first off, I can't believe that your insurance company asked you if your car was modded. Secondly, tell them no, and if you were to get in an accident, how the hell would the insurance adjuster even have a clue your car was modded (unless you have a nitrous bottle in the trunk)? When you look under the hood of your car, they would have no idea of the pulley, they would have no idea about the injectors, or custom tune.

they aren't going to find out. When you mod your car and you get into an accident, the insurance company doesn't have to cover the parts that were modded. For example, you turbo your car and get into a front end collision and damage the motor and turbo, you will probably be out mods. 99% of insurance adjusters go from the VIN of your car. Thats why civic owners buy a low end civic, and end up doing a motor swap. They get cheaper insurance but have the performance of the higher end ones. They have no idea what is modded or not. They are not car mechanics or car enthusiasts.

Awesome, now i just hope i can get a good quote on the bike. If i do ill be getting it at the end of the month when i get paid. Although that means my build will have to go on hold, might be able to install the tvs once it gets here but i dont know what its going to do with no exhaust mods.

is it normal for canadian insurance companies to ask the insurer if their car is moded? i've insured over 10 cars in my lifetime and i've never been asked if i had mods done to it. i live in california though.

Yea i never got asked that before today was the first time and both companies i called asked. I tried explaining what the mods were to RBC and i said "its kinda hard to explain what they are, they just give me more power" and she said "Do you have NOS?" i laughed and said "theres alot cheaper ways of blowing my car up"

I'm with State Farm here and I asked my agent regarding mods to my car. They told me I can mod it all I want to, should I be involved in an accident though, would need all receipts as proof for anything aftermarket I added.

they never asked me if my car was modded when I insured mine, and my insurance company is somewhere in Halifax. my broker finds the best available rate for me.
