sylvania led lighting
Is that my best bet for custom lighting (headlamps and foglights only)? Or should I consider anymore sources?
Also how would I go about getting them installed? Dealership? Independent source (friend, auto garage)?
Also what is HID lighting, and what is the difference from LED?
Thanks

I wouldn't use LED bulbs in headlights... the technology hasn't come far enough to allow you to use them for headlight beams. LED's simply don't project light outward well enough. You can use LED bulbs for your signals, marker, and brake lights... but don't use them for the headlights and fogs.
HID is an alternative to the stock halogen bulbs found in most cars. Its those bright and bluish colored lights that you most commonly find on high end vehicles such as Lexus and BMW's. They use an electrical arc to produce the light rather than a filament. Street lamps are also HID. I do not, however, reccommend using HID in the OEM housings for the Cobalt/G5. If you plan to go HID, I reccommend doing a retrofit by putting HID projectors in the OEM housings, or getting the projector housings that can be purchased from eBay.
