NEW <15lb wheel coming; possible group buy...

Something good came of my debacle with getting the wrong SP-5's sent to me; the company that sold them said they would work me a deal on the new lightweight ADR wheel, basically a knockoff of the TrakLite. This started a conversation about other people with these cars and their wheel needs...

Initially available in 15, 16, and 17 inch in 7 inch widths only - the Ion gets something before the 'balt for once, lol - available in multiple colors with a polished lip. 18's as well as wider options coming, looking like the 18x8's will be mid summer, in a higher offset (+50 ish) for the kappa cars, so 'Balts could run them with spacers...

Looks like I could get us a group buy in the $800 shipped for 4 range for 17x7's. Could get cheaper with enough participation.

Pictursiz... Well, how do I post attachments, it won't let me..? They are up on the "other" site in teh suspension and wheels area...

This site won't link to RLF, lol.

7" width is only a fail if you are going wider than stock. For SCCA Solo, weight is more important than just about any form of racing, and in the Stock classes, the LSJ cars are limited to 7"width 'cuz that's what they came with. Besides, if enough people jump on these, it'll be cake to get wider ones made. 18x8's are coming in June/July anyway.

17x7 is worthless in my opinion. You wouldn't catch me dead shoving a 245 on there. I am hesitant to cram a 245 on my 7.5" rim. Plus, $800 for 4... $200 a pop. I will save for another month and buy myself some OZ rims with a proven rep and the size I need.

But, for those that are looking for a cheap, light rim, this may be a right of passage.

I bought my ADR's WITH tires for $800! lol. $600 a set is more realistic IMO.

And you bought 25 lb cast pieces of ****.

Find me a sub 16 lb 17x7 FORGED wheel in the 5x110 bolt pattern for under $270 each. No? Didn't think so - I've been looking for years. Ther's one option - thus the $270 price - and that's the polished-or-chrome-only Centerline's, $270 each, 3 week minimum wait as they're made to order, sent direct from the manufacturer.

Forged wheels for $800 SHIPPED is now too much money - no wonder nobody makes **** for our cars. :shakes head: We've been asking for an affordable lightweight wheel option for years. Someone finally steps up, and now it's not the right size, or too much money (despite being the cheapest out there by over 25%, almost 50% off the next cheapest option).

How about if you don't want a 15, 16, or 17 x 7 inch FORGED, lightweight wheel for $800 or so, you don't post in the thread for a forged, lightweight, 15, 16, or 17 x 7" wheel for $800 or so?

Can they make something even semi light in an 18x7.5 for the new TC cars with an offset of +36? The stock class SCCA autocross guys really need this. I'll buy them if they are less than the 23lb stockers we get. There seems to be nothing available at all.

Again, working on it. What we have is the 17x7, and the high-offset 18x8 on the way.

Where are you guys at with this price thing?! SSR - >$400 EACH. TrakLites - >$300 EACH. Konig aslkdjfh-01's (I can never remember that razy model number) - JUST under $300 each. O.Z. Allegarrita - $335 EACH. And so on. VERY few lightweight forged wheels are under $300 a piece retail, and MSRP on these bad boys is $1,099 a set plus shipping. VERY REASONABLE AT RETAIL, ONE HELLUVA DEAL AT $800-850 FOR A SET OF 4.

Where do you guys come off with this ****, sseriously? :shakes head: A couple years ago I tried to get the TrakLite's made for us, and everyone **** their collective pants at $350 each. $200-$210 each SHIPPED is too much? I just paid half that much for a pair of ******* motor mounts! Go die in a fire.

Maven - they are already built. I will have the first set in a couple of weeks.
