2 aftermarket heat exchangers?

Ok well i been talking to the guys in my local section about an issue i have. I bottomed out the other day and cracked the stock heat exchanger and now its leaking pretty bad. I have to refill my coolant every 200kms or so. I also have the cobalt addiction heat exchanger that is working perfectly...basically its saving the car right now...lol. So the other weekend my local performance shop was asked if he would bring the dyno to the theatre for the showing of fast and furious 4. So we had a car show and dyno there that weekend. I dyno'ed the car and only hit 217whp, basically lost 30whp from my last dyno. And the graph showed the car pulling timing becausing of the temp/knock that started.

So i talked to the dealership and they said a new stock h/e would cost $480. That is if this isnt under warrenty. I have a pretty good dealership and dispite all my mods they always use my warrenty if something happends. So my plan is take the car in, get them to look at it and see if the warrenty is good. if it is then problem solved. However if it isnt then its onto a new plan.

If i cant use the warrenty ill take out the stock h/e and just run the cobalt addiction h/e however its not going to be as good as running 2 of them...seeing as i lost 30whp or so from the stock one being fucked up. So im thinking if i buy the OTTP H/E and put that where the CA is and take the CA and put it above the OTTP and move it back an inch or two it should be enough clearence to fit both in there. Is this remotely possible? If so has anyone ever done it.

alot of people actually do that, just take out the stock heat exchanger and just use an aftermarket one
glen229 is a 2.4 and installed a lsj supercharger on his car and is only using an aftermarket one while still using the duel pass setup

If I'm not mistaken, you can go with the OTT heat exchanger and just ditch the factory one and the CA one. The OTT one is designed to run by itself and deletes the factory one completely. I could be wrong tho. If you had the OTT one, i don't think you'd even need the CA one anyway. OTT's is huge!

Yea i seen how big it is, just dont know how better it is, all i know because of the stock one being out or leaking i lost 30whp due to the temp being abit higher and the computer pulling the timing. kinda sad that i only hit 217whp that day and had the most hp out of 20 cars that day...lol

You would prolly see cooler temp's just by passing the stock HE and using the CA HE standalone. The stock HE is sandwiched between two heat source's ,as where the CA he is sitting out in fresh air.

just remove the stock on and keep the C/A one by itself. You are running meth to so you wont have to high of temps anyways

like they said probably from leaking/damaged h/e not because your car was "running off of only one h/e". Save the money and just remove the stocker and run the CA. or buy another one and only run that one and sell me your old one
