Friday night my car was hit by another car in the movie theater parking lot, it was a hit and run. There is a dent and scratch on my drivers side back door. The estimate i got from the place my insurance sent me to was $655. This includes fixing the dent, taking out the window and window trim and repainting the entire door. My deductible is $500 so the insurance would only be covering $155 of the cost, i'd be paying the rest.
I stopped at another place a car dealer friend recomended and they gave me an estimate of $300 however they would fix the dent and then blend the paint.
My question is: Which is the better option?? I plan to keep my car for a long time and i want something that will look good and last. Any advice would be appreciated.

You don't give quite enough information here. However, I would bet that although body shop 1 put down full door paint, they really are blending within the panel. If the shop doesn't r&i all the trim, then they are going to tape- which can be ok, but it means the clear will run up to the tape line and stop instead of being run to the panel edge. It's usually a little cleaner to run the clear to the panel edges. I'd go for the $655 option with the info you provided.

They said they will not have to tape. they will take the door off completely and remove the window and trim around the whole window. Paint the whole door black and then clearcoat the whole door.
