Tools: Flat head screw driver, Phillips head screw driver, Window crank remover(if you have manual windows) your color of Dupli-color vinyl spray. hot glue gun, razor blade.

1. REMOVE COVERS. take the flat head a pry easily to pop up the covers that cover the philips screws.

2. remove window cranks or switches/bezel. okay so i figured i would do this for the manual guys. get a window crank removal tool and a parts store and stick it between the crank and the plastic washer, turn the crank untill you see the clip come off. pull the crank off and sit down.

3. now take your fingers and go around the edges and pull the panel off the door. might take some effort. then you will be greet by this.

4. once the door panel is off discontect everything so you can move the panel around. now, take the razor blade and cut the plastic rivets that hold the inster to the panel. and then give it a little push. (not to hard, you can easily damgage the insert.

5. now that you have it off this is what it should look like.

6. time to paint/dye. make sure its very clean with no oil spots or hair, ETC, lay down 1 light coat to start to change the color. let dry. then lay down a 2nd medium coat, let dry, then another medium coat, then a final light coat. this is what is should look like when done.

Hope this helps everyone and hope it can get moved to the how to section.

is it possible to take the window crank off without using the window tool? or breaking it?

yep you use a cloth, hold it like floss and pull, the clip will then come out

Nice write-up. However for painting the plastic I found krylon fusion paint works the best. For the insert its best to just recover it. The duplicolor dye lasts a little while but in my experience it faded very quickly.

thanks and yeah mine looks good so far. but ill probably recover them in leather. and probably just dye the headliner.
