What’s up with the Pontiac Pursuits

I really don’t hear much about the Pursuits. Are the Cobalt sales kicking the Pursuits ass up in Canada? Also, do you guys think Pontiac will make a Pursuit GT and or a coupe?

I think it may be lack of advertising.
The Cobalt has two TV ads running all the time here. The SC one in the grocery store parking lot, and the sedan one where everyone is checking out the sedan in the owners driveway.
The Pursuit has 2 TV ads running but they are for a bunch of Pontiacs and the Pursuit only appears for a second.
There is a new TV ad (I just saw it this week anyway) where a woman is staring out her house window at her new Pursuit. She runs to the fridge and quickly drinks a whole jug of milk, and then says I have to go to the store for more milk (an excuse to drive the new car).
Also we see the US Cobalt ads
Maybe this might help things.
Of course for now, you also only get the sedan choice.

In driving around Toronto, I have seen 2 Cobalt sedans, no coupes and no Pursuits on the road (but I haven't been driving around alot lately). We have way to many Japanese cars on the road here IMO. Gas averages 0.85 $Can/liter here now, which may have something to do with that.

I thought the Pursuit coupe was coming this summer?

Do you get any Canadian TV stations in Cleveland JonelZ?

Were supposed to be getting the Coupes soon...
and later summer there will be a convertible and eventually supercharged...
There about 200hp now but even with the supercharger it wont stand a chance racing the cobalt ss/sc...... The G6 is not very fast on the take off.
and its sad how the G6 is obviously a V6 and its going agaisnt a 4banger with more hp and a massive tourqe diff... lol
That info is very misleading,
The American version is the Cobalt. The Pursuit is just a Cobalt with different bumpers. They are sister cars with the same engine. There is no V6 Pursuit. Just the 2.2L

Just wanted to clear thing up. For more info, look it up on http://gmcanada.com

In Buffalo NY and Detroit MI they get the major Canadian stations on cable TV ( or they did last time I was there), and Cleveland is just across the lake from Ontario.

Cobalt & Pursuit are Delta cars; the G6 is a (midsize) Epsilon car. The Malibu is also on Epsilon.

Just cause 90% of the Canadain population live within 200 miles of the US border doesn't mean that 90% of the US population lives within 200 miles of the Canadain border.

Nice strip clubs in Niagara Falls though

there are a bunch of pursuits on the lot at McPhee Pontiac. i have only seen one on the raod here in Halifax N.S though.

Oh and, i'll back you up on the pursuit being a cobalt with a different bumper. I just lost any faith i had in car salespeople, not that there was much to begin with.

Same here! Saying a G6 is a Pursuit/Cobalt is like saying a Cavalier/Sunfire is the same as a Grand Am! I always heard they got the good smoke up in Canada, looks like this guy got some LOL.

Opps, I took the whole Pursuit thing being Canadian, and simply lost the fact he was in the states. Oh, and believe me, that was not an insult!

Not quite. The Pursuit and G6 have a much stronger resemblance to each other than the Sunfire and Grand Am do. So confusing the G6 and Pursuit is somewhat understandable, although the G6's long wheelbase is one big giveaway. :P

By the way...I saw a G6 yesterday in the same Wal-Mart parking lot where I spotted the base silver Cobalt sedan. I'm assuming the G6 was a GT because it had chrome wheels.
