I ordered the Nighthawk LED 3rd brake light about a year ago for my old LT, I took it off come trade in time and just remember I had it and installed it on my TC. Love it, looks great, but now my cruise control doesnt work.
Im sure this is because my car thinks my 3rd brake light is out because of the difference in power consumption between LED lights and regular lights. My question is, what size resister do i need to pick up to make my car think its a regular bulb and my cruise control work.
By the way heres pics: (I know its crooked,I already went out and fixed it cause when i looked at the pics it pissed me off. I think itll look great when I add LED's to my reverse lights next week.)

I went to the junk yard and got a monti carlo led third brake light and i soderd the wires to the old bulb housing and mine work great. Just look at the pos and neg plug and find what metal plate to soder the wires to and your good to go.

Why not just put a bulb back in one of the spots? Or does this plug into the car harness and not a bulb location?

well this LED strip is made to be "plug and play" so it fits into the stock harness. I could put the stock bulbs behind it and then just connect the LED strip to the wire and lay it in front of the lights but thats ghetto and i would rather avoid that and just put a resistor on the wire lol. Even though thats kinda ghetto too I guess

Ive seen ones that have the 194/912 connector on the end before, with those you just leave a bulb or two in and paint them black. Not sure whatresistor to use. By a little variable job and see what works, solder it in one of the wires and slide some heat shrink over it, dial it in then heat shrink it. Done.
Speaking of painting it black your SS looks good, I just painted some GM squares satin black today.

Ill try it, Im a wiring newbie, got some good practice soldering when we tried skyline lights on my buddies SS, we used the wrong LED's and blem em all up lol, have a youtube video for that one. But ill get some resistors from radioshack and see what works. Apparently I need some solenoids for my next attempt at LED's in my reverse lights anyways so the trip will be resourceful.
And thanks on the SS badge, I havnt though of painting my GM badges, that would be cool. Bet the satin looked real nice
You can actually see the plug in the pic. look whats dangling from the side of the light in the pic of me holding it. It really isnt a plug, its exposed wires with a white cap holding them. thats really it. I had to electrical tape the connection just incase it bounced off the trunklid or something lol it was sketchy

Do you know if you can still buy those things anywhere?

Weird, when I had that thing installed in my car my cruise worked fine. I ended up putting in the unit from an Impala since those are way brighter and my cruise still works fine. I'd get one from an Impala like i did, chop the plug thing off that one and wire it into the other one and use that.
