Trifecta tune

Well, I just sucessfully installed Vince's tune on my 09 SS/TC. All I can say is WOW! The thing is a beast now. I took it out on the highway today after the tune. Granted, we are in the middle of a wind event, where there are 45mph gusts going directly across the road... But none the less, I took her for a spirited run to speeds double the legal limit in most areas around here. The thing pulls like crazy, I love it!

I just hope I don't destroy the car! lol. I know I won't be too rough on it, I really do have a tame right foot most of the time. But to hear the turbo the way I do now is awesome. 22lbs of boost is just so much fun!

Gas mileage is the same as it was, if I manage to keep the needle south of 22lbs. But when I plant my foot, that fuel economy goes to my average for today, about 16mpg lol.

Installed my tune today. Had really high expectations and was still blown away by the difference. At any given time, you can break the tires loose, even 3rd gear. Crazy fun

Have u had the steering wheel ripped outta your hand yet sponge? Scared the crap outta me the first time!

After ~3 weeks of ownership, my car is at 400 miles now and I'm *trying* to avoid a Tune, but you guys are making it increasingly difficult!

Here's a neg-> save moolahh for a clutch. After driving some more tonight. My clutch does slip in the 3000-3500 range in 4th and even in 3rd sometimes. It's real quick and u you barely notice it, but it's gonna get worse.
Just for reference I have 5k on my car (80% normal 20% medium/hard driving) Hell, ive only smoked the tires from a stop twice. So its basically been babied...until today that is!

Yes, she tried that, and yes it did scare the crap out of me...

One good thing is that I found out yesterday that as of right now I have more horsepower then I do ball-power. That is keeping my wear on the car relatively low.

Vince mentioned to me that he has not had an issue with clutch slipping on 09's yet. I will have to see, and maybe take it easier since I really don't want to be changing a clutch out this soon.

To those with the tune: Have you noticed the car being louder under boost? Now, I realize that I am boosting 20-lbs now, but I am talking about comparing the sound of stock boost #'s before the tune, to that same boost range with the tune.

EDIT: I just saw I got my Dejon upgraded spring in the mail today, so I can't wait to get that in and hear what it sounds like after that!

Mine isn't any louder after the tune...I think what you are referring to is the fact that you are pushing and holding much more boost than stock...

Yeah, let me know how that upcoming Spec Stage 2+ works for you. I'm looking long term at one of those too.

One thing that confuses me is how do you tuned guys even make 1st gear useful.
I have found myself getting pulled by cars from the light because I cant seem to NOT break loose even if I dont floor it till the end of 1st! Just yesterday I struggled to reel in a Hemi Ram cause I babied 1st, dropped out of boost changing gears then stayed in it to barely get ahead before the cutoff!

Keep in mind I have has tick forever and have another car with down low TQ. It was easier to pull my 400hp Z on street tires away from a light then the darn stock Cobalt........damn FWD
