Lets keep this on topic...!!!!!!!!

Over the past few weeks I have seen a few HHRs that were flex Fuel capable from the sticker on the back. Assming they are the 2.2 Ecotec Motors, Why are the HHRs able to run E-85 and the Cobalts can't? I believe is all in the tune of the engine.
What else is different about flex fuel cars?

Before I thought the fuel lines had to be different to hold up to E-85 and upon further research many many people are running E-85 in old cars with rubber fuel lines.

Whats unique?

They get terrible fuel mileage.

But in all seriousness, probably has fuel system components made from different materials, special injectors, and is tuned to run on either..

they have a sensor that reads conductivity of the fuel. the pcm tunes using a calculation from this sensor to trim up to ~ 30% more fuel when E85 is present, or anywhere between that and non-oxy gasoline.

The flex fuel vehicles have and alcohol sensor in the fuel line that detects how much alcohol is in the fuel then it relays the info to the PCM and the PCM selects which map is used for the fuel

There's a 10 second eclipse on woodward that runs it. On top of being titties, it smells cool when it's running, haha.
