Steven Lorenz, creator of SRT-4 Designs dies in car crash

Steven Lorenz, who is the creator of SRT-4 Designs has tragically been killed in a car crash Tuesday night. He was only 18. He used the nickname "NightShade" over on SRT forums. You can read about the accident here http://www.wftv.com/news/8490195/detail.html

Everyone that does any tuning to their cars, no matter what type it is or how much power you are are trying to create, should take a moment and read this.

This is a true tragedy to the sport compact community and my prayers are with his family and friends.

Thank you,
Jared

70 in a 35! Yah, lets test out an unproven part on public roads....at twice the speed limit. I could have told them that was going to happen.

That is a sad waste of two young human lives. What in the hell were they thinking? At least they didn't kill anyone else!

you are either amazingly ignorant or a ***** for a driver. 75 in a 35 is nothing. you dont know what the roads are like around here.

how can you say 40 over the speed limit is not reckless. yeah i kno roads are straight enough but if the sign says 35 it is for a reason. whether it be a residential street or some other reason.

Yeah, I am ignorant! And I guess I am a big damb *****!!!!

Thats why I am not dead from hitting a tree at 70+ MPH!!! Speed limits are there for a reason. Just because everyone else speeds doesn't make it right, or safe.

Also I am sorry for not cruising by Orange County! I mean, I am only from Edmonton ! I should have just swung by! It's only like 1,000 miles away from me!

I feel for his family, but holy s**t! I think 70 might be an understatement with that kind of damage

the fact isnt hitting a tree, its doin 70 mph. just because a speed limit is posted doesnt mean a higher speed limit IS NOT UNSAFE. there are MANY roads, and i mean MANY that can be 70+ mph speed limit if it wasnt just a normal street. speed limits are there, i think, only to give tickets. i believe all speed limits could safely be bumped at least 10 mph+ and still be safe. that road i travel on everyday and you can get your car 100+ on that road (obviously you dont) but it can certainly handle the speed they were going. and its not about the UCF territory, its the fact that a 35 mph zone is too slow in its own good. And ignorance is when someone races to maybe 110 and then says 35 over is retarded. not saying thats you, but thats why i gave you options.

Yup, I should have known I'd find something like this!

18 drinking beer, jacking off, and using the word "*****"!

I guess if I was that dumb, I'd think 70 in a 35 and killing yourself hitting a tree was nothing too!

Thats horrible. A very very sad thing to happen. Things like that should be left for the track. Nobody ever thinks it can happen to them and it can. With the way the car looked, I think they had to be doing 100+. I maybe be wrong though. Either way sad day and prayers go out to there Friends, Family and anyone who knew them. Hope the other guy makes it out ok.

alright now guys. listen no one deserves to go out like that and you both have your points but you are missing the key point. like it was said maybe 10 over isnt that bad but it was 40 over the limit. and what 18 year old doesnt drink beer???? my parents buy my alcohol for me as long as i dont drive. so lets quit the e thugging and just give our sympathies.

like i said, this kid doesnt know this road...although its 40 over THAT posted speed limit, that road can handle 50mph speed limit just like the road it was coming to. in that scenario....70 isnt imcomprehensable or a death wish. some roads of course it is. just not that one.

Guess I have to wait for maturity to kick in.

Regardless, that is a sad waste of life. Too many people die in this word because of stupidity, and this is another prime example.

campo165, I mean this sincerely: I hope you grow up so that I am not reading about you in one of these articles.

im not immature, neither are these kids...they just pushed the envelope. im not afraid to take risks in life, and neither are these kids. they had a fun car but messed up. life sint worth living in fear of death, but sadly, sometimes something like this occurs.

Hey guys you should all stop you bull ****. Sad that you will waste your time and ours by typing **** nobody cares about while at the smae time completely missing the whole point behind this thread. This is a very sad moment for everyone in the sport compact world. I we should all be reaching out to the families and friends who's lives this will affect. I generally don't say much about this kind of stuff trying to stay nutral for being a supporting vendor. But do to the circumstances you all need to grow up and realize the complexity of the situation and how something like this could affect you or someone you know in the future. Be smart think before you type.
