will 245 40 fit the stock tc rims?
245\40's will rub in tight turns....... I've tried this size already on stock springs... On sportlines... total no-go.... I do have a bigger tire in back for looks though, it's a 255\40 and since the rear stays put ( no turning) there's no rubbing... The continental contact 3's that come on the car stock can be ordered in a 255\35\18 which I'm doing to the rear..... and, a 245\35\18 front might not rub due to shorter sidewall height....... The conti contact 3's also avail in 245\35\18.......
On the contrary\wrong, wider means they'll rub on the fenderwell in turns......especially with a 40 aspect ratio sidewall... do a 245\35 and you'll be golden.... take my word for it... I've been here done this........

ah i didnt read that he was asking about a 245 40 , im running a 245/35
i just got them installed today and they fit perfect with no rubbing but i think if i went any wider they would rub. how would it throw my speedo off they are the same height other than they are wider?
245 is in mm and 40 I believe is a % of the width.
So a 245/40 will have a slightly taller sidewall than a 225/40.
Man I want to get some wider tires now. In hopes that I can get some traction in 1st and 2nd.
Yes, they should, but if you are lowered it will be very close to rubbing. Stock height it should be no problem.
