245\40's will rub in tight turns....... I've tried this size already on stock springs... On sportlines... total no-go.... I do have a bigger tire in back for looks though, it's a 255\40 and since the rear stays put ( no turning) there's no rubbing... The continental contact 3's that come on the car stock can be ordered in a 255\35\18 which I'm doing to the rear..... and, a 245\35\18 front might not rub due to shorter sidewall height....... The conti contact 3's also avail in 245\35\18.......

On the contrary\wrong, wider means they'll rub on the fenderwell in turns......especially with a 40 aspect ratio sidewall... do a 245\35 and you'll be golden.... take my word for it... I've been here done this........

Going from 225/40 to 245/40 will throw that speedo out of whack some careful. I'd shorten the side wll to 35 unless you are doing some major track racing.

i just got them installed today and they fit perfect with no rubbing but i think if i went any wider they would rub. how would it throw my speedo off they are the same height other than they are wider?

It's an aspect ratio.

245 is in mm and 40 I believe is a % of the width.

So a 245/40 will have a slightly taller sidewall than a 225/40.

Man I want to get some wider tires now. In hopes that I can get some traction in 1st and 2nd.

Huh, now this is wierd. I ran 245/40 18's on my dropped on Sportlines sedan and they never ever rubbed even once. I wonder why they'd rub on a stock hieght coupe.

so 245/40/R 18 's work?

good

btw 245 is the width

40 is the height

ur sensors for ur tires for the speedometer work off stock size tires. so when modified. it changes by like 1-2 MPH

Yes, they should, but if you are lowered it will be very close to rubbing. Stock height it should be no problem.
