Help...car wont run in the rain

first of all i have a 07 cobalt ss s/c and the last time it rained i accidently sucked up some water and the mass air flow sensor got wet well i let the car sit and after about a day it drove fine...this time it rained i didnt drive through water my car sat in the parking lot at work and some how it got wet again and to drive it i have to gas the crap out of it just to keep it alive...i guess my question is could it be that my maf sensor is messed up from the first time or what....how could it possibly get wet from just sitting there? any ideas would be helpful thanks

First of all either ditch the intake, get a Hydroshield, or seal the area off better if its a stock intake. I would try pulling the MAF and spraying it with electronics cleaner, it sounds like you may have a fried MAF, as they tend to just jerk the car around uncontrollably if they're simply wet..

Clean the MAF with Throttle Body or Carb Cleaner....Then use Expandable Foam that you use for insulating houses ( You can get at Home Depo or Lowes ) and seal up any holes that let water in around the splash sheild that goes around the intake from the bottom to the wheel well.
