No they are right, here is a think to look at the speedo on these cars is stupid slow, so next time you floor it let off really fast and you will notice the speedo still moving up

I hit 75 in second gear and still had a couple hundred rpm's to go...

Of course, my redline is 7200... lol.

and vice versa...look at the speedo when you stop. Mine takes a good 2 seconds if not more (depending on how fast i was going before the stop) to hit dead zero. I'm usually moving again before that thing get's down all the way

I had a similar thought a while back about the speedo so I tested all my cars with a Racelogic GPS performance box (uses 10 gps satellites so it is very accurate)

With our cars, the speedo is amazingly accurate during cruise speeds. Never is off by more then 1 mph (the max I could distinguish with my eyes)

On acceleration though, it lags a little bit behind. Nothing crazy like reading 40mph when you are clearly going 60+mph, but during hard acceleration it seems to have about a 5-10mph delay max in the early gears and as the acceleration rate evens out it begins to catch up within a few mph.

Yep. I posted about that issue a few months back. My car hits 111-112 mph on the dyno in third at 6800 RPMs but the speedometer read 104-105 mph. It is accurate if you are cruising but it runs slow if you are accelerating.

and vice versa...look at the speedo when you stop. Mine takes a good 2 seconds if not more (depending on how fast i was going before the stop) to hit dead zero. I'm usually moving again before that thing get's down all the way

Mine too. I can panic brake and come to a dead stop and 2-3 seconds later the speedo reads 0. It is kinda annoying if you ask me.

it seems right... if you dont believe it, just let 2nd hit the revlimiter for a few secs... when your mashing through the gears the speedo is like 7-10mph behind...
