I just DON'T KNOW!

Sorry if this is but I need some help.
I've been looking at the Hahn level V setup vs. a TVS build. Best I can tell, after all is said and done, they are both within $200 of each other, unless I am missing some parts (which is totally possible).

Turbo Pros: lower heat, more efficient, potential later for bigger numbers, more flexible platform for future upgrades (change turbo, etc), only tune once (initially), BOV whoosh sound
Turbo Cons: Spool time, everything gets installed at once instead of piece by piece (less wrench time)

TVS Pros: Immediate boost, more power under the curve, higher torque (?), unique, able to install in pieces, whine
TVS Cons: Not as much room for increases past initial install, heat still an issue, multiple tunes

one day I'll lean toward turbo, the next I'll go toward TVS.
I made a google doc with a comparison of the price between turbo and TVS as well: http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?k...y0kFAh1Ef_hwRQ

Am I forgetting anything major?

NOT SURE BOUT THAT ONE..... but the hahn level 5 from what i have hear is very well put together and you won't need to buy anything but the kit i believe (except for the gauges you would want)

there are some parts from the dealer you need to complete the level 5.. its only like 100 bucks or so new parts.. u can find them used for about 45.

I just turned my boost up on my hahn kit.. stock hahn tune... 20psi is sick...

i became really good friends with my car installing the turbo kit... with some problems, my car was down for about 2 weeks... and i worked EVERYDAY that i could (maybe 3 days off because of parts missing / breaking)... It was a fun experience.

They have.. they just havent shown anybody the race gas results...

Turbo will yield higher peak numbers.. the tvs will be a little better under the curve...

all out drag race the turbo will probably win...

What parts from the dealer did you need to get? How many hours do you think you sunk into your build?

How did you go about changing the boost, and did you have to retune much?

Retune came from Hahn.

You change boost with a boost controller.

Some basic tensioner parts...

definitely the turbo.

trust me u want the lag on the turbo especially with front wheel drive. with a supercharger u will never get traction especially with 300+ whp but with the turbo u will ease into it.

FWD=TURBO
RWD and AWD=BOTH

Go TVS, after the hahn level 5 and if u wanna turn everything up and run safely ur looking at forged internals, studded, boost controllers, gauges, new clutch to hold the torque, and any other editions u really want and ur lookin at near 10k...ive been going between the two for a while now and ive decided to go tvs, still get big power and i ordered everything to get it up and running such as the new harrop, 60lb injectors, ottp heat exchanger, header, and downpipe for $3000. that gives you a lot of room to play with porting heads and other internals to get more power, not to mention go down in pulley sizes after doing internal work. If you want giant giant numbers your going to need to swap turbos in the hahn kit anyways.

I am going TVS, I get the group buy of OTT fot the TVS the Hanh was a lot more expensive is like $4000 the blower and 60 pounders like $1900. I am going with stock motor just supporting mods like cooling and exhaust. Trying to get 320-350 max horsepower more than that is too much for a FWD light car, but its your choice man. Well after all Supercharger is more unique.
