LED OEM Skyline Taillights Feeler

I was recently looking for LED taillights for my SS, but I was not really satisfied with any of the options. In my opinion they all looked cheaply manufactured and were tremendously overpriced. I knew of a local company that traditionally produces LED taillights for classic cars so I pitched the idea to them. They seemed really receptive of the idea, but they were hesitant to agree to the back-up lights as well since they would essentially double the tooling cost.

I told them about people doing the skyline LED conversion where the reverse light would have a ring of LEDs around them while maintaining a stock appearance when the lights are off. I thought if I could accumulate a large enough list of cobalt owners that would be interested in buying them they would feel comfortable spending a little more in tooling costs.

Let me know who’s in:
1. BADMAB

No need for the super sized font, also please review the rules regarding non-supported vendor advertising.

No Spamming - No spam in PM's, emails, or signatures. It's OK to have a link back to your personal webpage in your signature but any off-topic spam will be deleted. That includes "helping people" by advertising your site/forums to them or soliciting other members. While these forums are free for you to use they cost money to run.

No free advertisements - If you are the owner or employee of a company, don't mention it, or put links and phone numbers in posts or signatures. Only Supporting Vendors can use links and numbers in signatures and posts.
If you are developing a product, you may talk about it until you have it ready and/or you are taking orders for the product. At that point you must become a Supporting Vendor to be able to promote your products.

Buying and Selling – Private party sellers may offer to sell individual items. No person, company, or business of any size shell attempt to sell merchandise, products, or services of any retail nature, or to make a profit of any kind. Anyone attempting to sell multiple quantities of items or in a retail/profit nature without being a Supporting Vendor of this site will be in violation of this site's rules and Terms of Use.

You may "test the waters" to see if there is interest in the product, but in order to advertise and sell them you will have to become a Supported Vendor.

P.S. you don't need to make a thread in every regional section, 1 thread in the appearance section is plenty.

It all depends on how they look and the price. I much prefer the stock look over the gaudy looking ones that are available now, so I would have an interest in the inners if they make them look stock. Right now I have the LED strip in my lights but it's not perfect so if they make a set I'd definitely look into it.

I'd be down for something like this. I'm also looking into a 3B Spec Switchback LED bulb conversion for the inner rear lights as an alternative to the ring. They're an LED bulb with two colors... one would be for reverse and another for braking... all from one bulb in the reverse light location. It might be an easy swap.

Sorry, don't mean to thread jack. I'd be interested in this too if it actually pans out. What price range are we looking at though?

Thanks... I was beginning to think I was the only one that thought that...

One of the things that bothers me about the existing options too is when just one LED goes out sooner or later.. and it will.. it's going to go from looking great to looking cheap.

im in. Dont like the big aftermarket ones that stick out 4 inches and dont have a red housing. I want stock looking lights with 1 ring for tail light and 1 ring for reverse light. You can wire them together and have them work in sync, or wire them seperate and have only your tail light blink and so on. Very easy to wire that too.

3. Shibito (inner reverse lights only)

Ignorance must be bliss, eh? There are FIVE (5) DIFFERENT styles. One using a red housing.
And yes i seen you don't like the ones that stick 4 inches out. I would hate ones that do that too.
I have the IPCW ones, and they only add on an extra 1.5 inches max.
