A 5-speed automatic... why is GM the only company still sticking to 4 gears?

I think that there is a market for a "RS" version of the car... Basically, put the car on a diet, it's a heavy bitch and if there was available from the factory, a lighter version of the car that had no sound deadener, came with thinner lighter seats, lighter wheels, some structural components replaced by lighter materials, Factory Composite Hood front and rear, Lighter Door panels,

See what I'm getting at..

Manually shifting Automatic trans. The 4T45E already is capable of it, you just need to give the driver the ability to shift it.

i would like all of the ideas above plus skyroof option, even more beefed up audio system, and dual exhuast, and wider and larger trunk opening. Also i would like it automatically lowered another inch or two, the ass end sits up a little much.

I'd like to see some real chrome or polished aluminum instead of this shitty coated stuff that comes off when you rub it. And less plastic!!!

Isn't the 2.4(VVT) borrowed from Toyota..?? Borrow their V6, I think it makes 268hp, and put it in the cobalt.
Bring the 2.0 from the solstice gxp too. They can find a way to run the piping/turbo.
I would like to see a GM series for the Cobalt in SCCA.

Smart, like the Original ACR... market it as a small production, club racer package... base Cobalt bare bones with just the SS/SC engine.

I'd like to see a full set of gauges. Just a few years ago you really had to try hard to find a car that didn't have temp, oil, volts, etc..... Now the trend is to leave all that stuff off since apparently the manufacturers are worried about people coming in for warranty work every time the gauge twitches.
