UPDATE:

Pricing: Due to rising costs of some parts the 13" DP6 kits have been raised a bit. For those who have been emailing or pm'd the past month or so I'll cover shipping on any such kit for the remainder of the month. After that it's business as usual and the DP6 kits will still remain a solid value at the new price.

Rear kit confusion: I have to stop and think about some of this when I speak with you guys...there are multiple things to consider here so allow me to try to clear up some confusion.

First, there are no TCE "drum to disc conversions" officially. Yes you see one of them in service and in the Photobucket link. The rear kit shown on the HHR panel is a one-off deal I did for a customer with a four pot rear caliper. It does not have provisions for a parking brake. More could be made if requested but it's not a menu item.

While I could produce a p-brake set up for this keep in mind we are speaking of a $1200+ rear kit and your need for custom cables to make it work. I am sensing little interest in such kits.

Second, the rear p-brake kit that was sent out in prototype form has been installed and functions accordingly I've been told thus far. I'd like to put up some final pics of this shortly so stay tuned. This was on a disc rear car where we had cables to begin with and the universal nature of the combo caliper will accept many oe cable set ups. Again this is a costly package so I don't expect a rush on these.

Lastly, the rear rotor w/oe caliper set up has been put to paper but not put into service yet. With a number of front kit customers considering it I hope we can put up some final pics of a completed rear very soon. Most of the interest remains yet at the front so that's where most of the time is being spent.

Options: The DP6 caliper kit is now available in a number of factory applied colors including RED, BLUE, YELLOW, SILVER and of course standard BLACK powder coat. There is also an option for fully polished calipers for a full on show look. Producing a rear p-brake kit with matching anvil would be possible as well. TCE is also stocking both Poly B and H compound pads for the DP6 should there be an desire to track the car. *There are no such compounds for the rear combo caliper however.

As always, if yo have any questions just ask.

As Todd says, the rear kit is 100% functional. Oh yeah, the fronts too. ;)

I'll upload the close up pictures soon.

Unless I'm out racing...and only bagged a third! Damn new motor has more torque and now I need to make some suspension changes to get the power to the ground....never ends does it?

Rear kit here using the Wilwood rear combo caliper is more of a "one off" for now but I certainly have no issues making more. Keep in mind this was don with a front kit also which effected cost.

To reproduce this: $1360

I'd also want to review this owner and suggestions for change or alterations necessary to ensure a smooth install for you. I don't think he encountered any but he's also perhaps 'more capable' than some and may have simply filed down a high spot or such and graciously said nothing. I also believe the stock cables were used to make the connections- a real plus.

No problems installing the kits other than an e-brake cable falling out of the bracket under the console when there was no tension on them. That took all of 15 minutes to figure out a few days later.

If it counts as a problem I guess the first bleed wasn't perfect but the frame and axle shop next door rebled everything the next day when they had the car for an alignment...

Great! I know the combo caliper can be finicky at times. Being universal in nature the lever brackets will accept a number of different ends but sometimes the mount holes need to be opened up or the cable length adjusted some to get the correct pull on the lever. In the case of the MINI we have to supply a shim to account for the thickness of the jacket where it no longer goes through the fat caliper body...overall however this caliper has been fit to a wide range of platforms with very good success.

The front looks very good with both the wheels and the body color. And I think that for your proposed trip to the drag strip you'll be in fine shape at the end of the quarter mile. For anyone expecting to hear of gawd awful pedal feel, response, biasing issues or some such thing I think we can put that to bed.

I did just remember that the hole in the ear/bracket on the combo caliper that accepts the e-brake cable was just the slightest bit too small for the cable end. I took a uni-bit to it and went one step larger and everything was fine.

I told Todd that I'm not much of a review writer but in the near 1000 miles that I've put on the brakes I've had no problems and they perform exactly as intended. No unexpected noises either. Before the frame shop rebled the brakes for me I locked up just the front right on a really hard stop but since then everything is balanced and flat as a pancake with no noticeable nose dive. (Although some of that might be attributable to my coilovers' stiffer spring rates.)

A bit of chit-chat on rear rotor kits....

I'm still open to doing this with the caliper relo bracket but will require a car again to do so. While I have some of the data to look at, aside from making one set of test brackets I'm not going to ship it to someone unless I'm more confident of clearance needs. Anyone in AZ interested in stopping by?

REMINDER:

The free ground shipping offer for a 13" DP6 front kit is in effect still for the remainder of this month. For you east coasters this is an easy $50 savings...

And if drilling is not your thing, a simple slotted design is standard. As seen here on this killer looking MINI.

All the front kit parts are in place and or done. The rear relo bracket is on my bench waiting for a test fit. Be happy to see what shakes out with you but we'll need to look at it after the first. I'm in MN for a Ford program the next day and half, then back to load the race car and off for a hill climb in central CO this weekend, staying an extra day with the wife, home on Tuesday.

Yeah, not Cobalt but not a lot of difference in production.
