Hey Victory Red guys, check out Meguiar's #26
I had a gift card to blow and was trolling around the Meguiar's forums when I saw a post from an employee about Yellow Wax (#26) that said it gives blacks and reds a rich, deep tone...so I decided I'd give Gold Class a rest and try some out.
Here are the results after 2 washes and clay, with a light coat of #26 left to cure for some time.
Sorry, my camera is 5 years old...

I've found my new wax

...now if I could just find a new camera...

holy **** that looks good...how did you do it tell me from wash right down to wax and application of wax..did you use a buffer or by hand. how long did you let it sit before you took it off
I did this by hand.
I don't think I really did that great of a job, I want to buff and use TurboWax wash with this wax...
I did 2 sponge washes with a generic car wash solution. Hot water with the wash mix, and a seperate sponge drain bucket cleaning the sponge after every pass.
I used Meguiar's 100g clay kit with Quik Detailer as a lube (Gold Class, not standard, its only $1 more but you get 20g more clay) until I could pull no more grime out of the paint. Allowed it to dry, and applied #26 with a yellow foam applicator by hand.
I had to let it sit for a while because I had company over, but the wax didn't have any problems lifting, and didn't stain the plastics where I missed at all.
Black magic tire shine in wells and under hood, Armor All gel tire shine on tires. Wheels polished with Nevr Dull.
I've used a lot of different waxes, and I can honestly say that this is my favorite, by far. And its pretty cheap too!

M26 is an excellent carnauba product but no wax on its own is going to be the be-all, end-all of a detail. I used M26 on our new-to-us '08 Victory Red when I did a full rotary buff job. A lot of people will tell you that carnauba products give a wetter and deeper look on reds and blacks than synthetics will, but that's really down to personal preferences. Still, to fully get rid of the swirls you need a paint cleaner, cleaner polish or even a full blown compound depending on how bad they are.
For what it's worth, I've got full sun pix of our car before and after swirl removal in THIS thread.

I was just trying to show what a nice finish 26 leaves, I prefer it over Gold Class and actually over NXT as well...

Your car needs a full top to bottom detail. Follow these steps:
-Clay bar
-Cutting Compound
-Polish
-Sealer wax
-High Tech Yellow wax
It does look good though.

Do you have a high speed polisher?

I've been meaning to pick up a variable speed Porter Cable unit, as the only thing I have right now is an ancient Black & Decker.
I understand this, I was never claiming to have done anything amazing with a wax alone, just stating that I prefer it over the other products I've used on this car

If I use just a wax, I'll use the NXT Generation stuff. I've got the Meguiars DA Polisher.
Porter cable is too expensive. haha
