Do a search before the retards on here get on your case haha.

In short you need to turn comp. mode on while shifting you can keep your foot on the gas. shift at around 5900-6100 rpm at WOT . takes a while to get used to

You do not need to turn on comp mode for it to work.

turn off traction control obviously...no need to put it in comp mode. If the track prep is right you don't need to hit any buttons

In the Owners Manual for the '09 Cobalts:

"No-Lift Upshift (SS Models)": Page 2-30
"Competitive Driving Mode (SS Models Only)": Page 4-9
"Launch Control (SS Models Only)": Page 4-10

Took me two minutes to find all three of those in the manual. It's all in there, just gotta look.

you dont have to be at a strip to practice a few NLS, wouldn't want him to practice on a side road and think he's a ******* because it keeps bogging down on him.

Press all three pedals at once and it puts your car in v-TEC mode. Then you can no lift shift, and it'll activate the hidden factory blow off valve for maximum turbo flutter. "WHOOSH-SH-SH-SH, I'm fast AND furious!!!"

Yep you're right, but I've never had my tires let go enough during a NLS for the traction control to kick in. I refuse to do a 1->2 NLS, I'm inconsistent and the car doesn't seem to be a huge fan of it...if anything is going to break I would expect it to ont he 1->2 shift.

If you're going to do a 1->2 shift via NLS then yes absolutely put it in Comp. mode...or at the very least turn off TC. Beyond that the wheels don't let go long enough for TC to kick in in my experience on the 2->3...but I'm sure if there's a will there's a way .

I don't get why everyone is telling him to put it in comp mode or turn traction control off when doing a NLS?

NLS are performed from 2nd gear on.....A few of you seem to think he asked how to launch the car.

I do NLSs all the time, as I love to drive the hell outtta my car. I do it in "normal" mode.

I have tested a bit, and found it best to hit a NLS (especially 2nd-3rd) at aroun 5700 RPMs. I have tried sometimes at 6k rpms and I heard a bit of grinding.

If you do it right, you should hear a nice pop from your exhaust or w/e

I always do it in Comp. Mode out of habit, even though I'm aware it's fine everywhere as per the manual. I do avoid the 1-2 NLS, however, since the car just lays down $20 of Continental if I do.

An atmospheric blow-off valve would yield zero performance gain on the SS/TC, don't waste your money.
