coolant is being chilled from your ac system... if i remember correctly it is like a box that has plates inside... and the plates inside get cold from your ac refridgerant and then your IC coolant pass through these plates "chilling" the coolant as it passes...

na hardly any... some people are worried that it would put to much strain on the ac system... causing it not to be as cool in the cabin... or not last as long? not sure... that and its a little pricy

I think the only way you guys are going to really show people what this can do is by putting it on one of your cars and proving it.
Kinda gotta show people it's worth equal or the same as doing dual pass and a h/e that will only cost them 300 or so.

Dual pass's don't do crap.... H/E's and Meth do alot... the killer chiller however takes an H/E and 1 ups that...

Take the already cooled "coolant" and making it ICE cold from the AC refrigerant lines...

If it was "working" when I had my LSJ I would have done it.

Remember guys... on tuned LSJ's the A/C compressor shuts off at WOT anyway so you won't loose any power due to it anyway!

Results were posted months ago.

Test car was a tvs running a 3.1" pulley ~19 psi.

Only cooling mod was a c/x racing h/e.

iat2 drop of 19* after back to back runs in 58* weather. Different testing will be coming soon for longer periods of time and possibly some other tricks.

Summer time weather this will produce temp drops greater than 40* easily.

I so want to do this but :barf: at all the work needed for it....Once I get some funds back in I think I might give it a whirl. I know what the kit can do with out IAT2's. And the money to spend is definitely worth it IMO.

In Florida AC is a must. So no biggie there for me. If I remember correctly, once you install it you have to have a place add more freon into your ac system or have it flushed or something, right? I read up on it a while back but have since forgot.

I did switch to Distilled water/water wetter and have noticed about a 14* drop in IAT2's.

Have you ever been to Charleston? It's just as bad as Florida man since I've been stationed at Eglin AFB for awhile as well. I still don't like to use AC though. ;) Plus, my Integra doesn't have that shit anyhow when I'm cruising in that either.

I apologize for taking so long. I am still interested in participating in this. If this is still going on by October 1, I will buy a kit. I'll probably still buy one, since I want to have it for the track next year. Let me know what you guys can do.

this may sound dumb but uuuhhh....if the a/c shuts off @ WOT, uhhh, the kit shuts off right?

So the concept is to keep the IATs really really low, so when you do do go WOT, your temps are alot lower than they usually would be when you started a pull, correct?

Rippin07
09-09-2009, 02:30 PM
The idea is that the intercooler fluid is already chilled to approx 45-50*F on this suction side setup, the more coolant you also have in your system the better, IE dual pass w/ Opt. B is a plus. The more coolant you have chilled the longer it will take to raise the coolant temp. Now when you go wide open throttle, you will not heat all that coolant up that fast, however, the capacity for the laminova cores to draw out heat from the charged air is increased substantially as they are very cold compared to ambient temps resulting in a larger IAT2 drop.
A killer chiller means heat soak no longer exists. when you turn on your A/C system so you could do back to back runs at the drag strip with no ill effects.
I have already made the adaptations to catch any and all condensation so no to leak on the track. Very quick, easy and cheap to do.
