Post ATTN: people running the OTTP stage 1 kit

I've been having issues with my Rebel kit recently and was considering sending my PCM to OTT to flash their tune to fix my problems.

My problems are that I'm running uber rich and in second and third gear the car starts to pull back because of the knock sensor pulling back the timing.

Will the OTT tune have the same kind of issues, but not as bad? because I've heard from someone who ran the OTT kit that its not as noticable but still there.

Thanks in advance for your input

think here.....

is it overly rich, or to much timing?

the car wont pull timing due to fuel, just KR. thats normally caused by to aggressive of a spark map.

none the less, ya, I'd bet the OTTP flash will do you some good.

When your car is running to rich the engine starts to knock, to compensate for that knock the PCM retards the timing. I've had issues like this with my Cav because it was running a bit rich. This fuel managment problem I'm having now is the worst I've seen it. The tune was complete garbage.

in order to reach a "rich knock" stage of combustion, the flame front must almost be stalled out thus causing the pressure wave split.

this would mean your bordering on the low10-high9 AFR range.

i've seen some **** can'd tunes in my day, but i hope the rebel tune isnt that bad....

I have codes poping up, engine knock, un-even idle, black smoke pouring out of the exhaust, among other things. That seems like a great tune eh...... Plus the quarter mile times I have gotten are worse then with my stage 2. You can't tell me that this tune is fine and dosn't need any kind if tweaking.

I don't know the advanced side of things, but I'm just going on my experience with this sort of stuff. I'msorry I can't be more precise. All I know is that the car runs like a bag of ****, I listed some of the problems in the above post

I hoped the same thing, I heard some good things and decided to give them a chance. But you can ignore the facts, the car runs like a bag of hammers. I'm sorry if I came off as abrasive, but I'm just frusterated.

The rebel kit is the exact same as the OTT one minus the PCM flash.

I assume you have the OTT kit, do you have CEL's? do you feel the car pulling back its timing when racing up the quarter? Hows your idle? is it bouncy?

yesm no, no, idle is stable with plus or minus 50rpm for supercharger surge... the ott tune rocks bro... just make sure you tell them you want the COT OFF, and if you go to the track tell them to turn the IC pump to turn on anytime your ignition is switched on

also do you have everything install correctly?

COT? and yes, I triple checked all the parts to ensure they are properly installed.

exactly. start with a base tune and go from there. The only Rebel thing I have seen is a 2.4 supercharged conversion that is pure junque, we worked on fixing it, and corrected some of the basic issues, and now Shaun has got it running half decent with a friend's help. What a nightmare. Anything from Rebel seems awful to tell the truth. Listen to 06 Black he knows his s**t....
