Hey guys any Cobalts around this area. I just moved from the Mt Laurel nj group to bethlehem. seeing if there are any meets or what not. Some decent open roads to ride on

hello, im from macungie about 20 mins from bethlehem. not sure how much you know about the area, but if you know where schoenersville road is, there is a sheetz gas station. friday and saturday nights a bunch of cars normally go up there and hang out. i dont get a chance to do it too often anymore, but i go up every once in a while.

 

sheetz is that the one by rt22 over there

right off rt22, take the schoenersville road exit. there is another sheetz on mcaurthor road, but i havent been to that one in a while, not sure if people still go there.

 

last time I was at the Sheetz I wasn't real happy with the crowd. It has been a long time since I've been over there on a Fri. or Sat. night though. I'm in East Allentown and was hoping for a local Cobalt meet sometime soon. It's been a while since I've gone to any meets around here and I'm in withdrawal. I was in withdrawal from this site too haha, been a few months since I've gotten on here. I'm wondering if we can get enough local interest to to set something up in the near future around here. Any ideas?

 

i've been wondering the same thing, i live in pennsburg which is next to quakertown. finally seems like there is a growing amount of cobalt owners around here. anyone know of a good place? i know of a small park with a nice flat parking lot on 663 right by the turnpike entrance

 

im in nazareth, which is like 10 minutes from bethlehem, 15 from allentown

 

well there's certainly a few of us pretty close to one another, i dont see why we couldnt manage up some type of meet or cruise

well if we get a meet up somewhere i think it should be somewhere that other tuners and domestics would drive by and stop in, almost like a mini car show that people can stop in and feel like they can talk to others (not ask for a street race)

 

well i know every thursday night there is a "vw" meet at the starbucks in the parking lot of the south mall on lehigh street. i drove by a couple weeks ago and actually saw a fellow cobalt there. i know some hondas, and ls1's show up sometimes too.

 

hmm, i'm not familiar with macungie area to well but its only like 15 mins away, i'll have to mapquest it and get an idea where your speaking of

 

I actually just remembered that they have a "cruise night" once a month at macungie memorial park. Its open to anyone you just show up and they ask for donations so give thme a buck or 2 and your in. Pretty sure there is one the 18th or something I'm at work now so ill look when I'm home, but I planned on going over with my dad

 

bah, i'm booked for the next two weekends anyway, this upcoming weekend i've gotta work our show, i'm with team no limit and our car show is July 11th in harrisburg at the paxton street home. then the following weekend i gotta hit up some water skiing, its my g/fs family vacation so i'm chillin with them for the weekend.

I moved to Bethlehem from Joisey a few years ago too. Let me know if you want to go out for a cold one sometime.

Oh yeah... they were not the most glamorous little guys for their time, but they got good mileage and was our mediocre attempt at an econobox.

 

man id like to see the stroked vette out sometime haha. i see the track numbers in your sig, just curious what tires you were running. my dad's got a yellow c4 vette, pretty much all show no go, but its what he likes so its cool.

I double checked and the cruise night at macungie park is on saturday the 18th. also i know there is a little car show at wegmans on tilghman street sunday.

 

yeap i have a 79 chevette in almost mint condition with original paint and interior, 4spd, 40k miles 2dr hatch. i'm going to do some work to it eventually and put it on the show scene. it will be one of a kind and people won't be able to find them if they wanted to, haha.
