The second time I was pulling away from him and then I missed third on the NLS. And the first run he had the much better reaction time.

Nah, he just hit his accelerator a lot faster. I don't normally race except at the dragstrip where I miss third a lot there too. aka I'm retarded :P

And what is done to your Cobalt?

 

Mine is full stock except for a muffler delete which does nothing for power, but makes it sound yummy. I'm currently looking into getting a trifecta tune before next friday. I'm tired of waiting for GM's slow asses.

 

I watched that second video three times now and I'm still not seeing the part where u were pulling on him before u missed a shift. I will give u maybe a foot, maybe. but I just dont see it. I would still be proud u were hangin with him since he has twice the cylinders as u.

The road we're racing on is very empty at the times we're racing. Was about 6am. Woulda been earlier if we hadd gotten off of work on time. He doesn't normally drive his beast to work due to gas milage, but I'll see if he wants to go again next week or something before I get the trifecta. Also gonan try and get a dyno run in early next week to see the power gains etc..

He runs high 12's at the track with slicks soooo yay for missing third, right? *smacks his head on the desk a few times*

 

Not being tuned, I don't see you getting him. Unless he's just a failure at driving, but doubt it since you said he runs high 12's. I'm guessing Headers/exhaust, no Heads/Cam or anything. I do want to see a run after the tune though.

Looks like he started in second if it was a 6 speed. BTW, with a 6 speed they usually get high 20s on the highway and high teens low 20s in the city if driven normally. Even with mods.

 

I like how one of the mods on the trans am was "an LS1 headers"

 

That was a typo >.> He's got an automatic in it. Don't ask me why. We're gonna try and go once more before I get tuned. And we'll go as many times as it takes to get me not missing 3rd >.>

 

Makes a little more sense, auto's aren't the best at rolls. They are good at the roll racing from 20-25 and below or 50+. I think between 25 and 50 is second gear, where the lower of the speeds puts it low in 2nd, but to high for first. Got plenty of friends who have auto F-Bodies.

As for 6 speed MPG's, I get 13-15 city and 22-24 highway. Course I'm running Heads/Cam set up and a Moser 9" rear with 4.11's.

However, the track is a better place for it.

 

dont miss gears.... thats how you lose money.... im all for street racing and all but either close off the road or stay on the right side of the road ive had too many friends die from ass holes on the wrong side of the road....

 

Not sure if you meant that to be concern or not, buuut... I'll take it as concern. The reason We raced so early is because that road is empty and quite straight. Any oncomming traffic can be seen unless they're dumbshits and have their lights off.

We didn't just 'go' we drove the road a while till we saw no headllights period. And then we didn't even race for more than 1000 feet. Not even a 1/4 mile length. Trust me when I say I know my roads and I don't do 'stupid' ****. I value the lives of other people too much.

As for the track... We're going next friday. Where he'll murder me for sure unless I get the trifecta by then.
