Lightbulb Feeler thread.....east central PA meet (Centralia/Pottsville)

So, another member here (Bika) and I were thinking about going to check out Centralia sometime. I suggested what about a Cobalt meet there, that would be unique, etc. He poo poohed the idea and went back to reading Playgirl. Well tonight I mentioned, I wonder how far Pottsville is from there.....turns out its like 30 miles.....sweeeeeeeet. So, thought I'd post just to see if anyone was interested in beer and falling into a burning crevasse. Sounds like fun to me.

Info (if you're clueless)

LOL told you the idea would flop

Maybe you should spell out the significance of Centralia and Pottsville...

Centraila PA is the site of a infamous coal mine fire circa 1980. It is a town that was basically evacuated because the coal beneath the hills on the outskirts of the town will continue to burn for the next several hundred years, causing occasional ground cave-ins and pockets of gas in some low lying areas. There are still a few residents in the town and the town roads and highways (with the exception of a couple mile stretch of rt 61 that goes thru the coal mines) remain open to traffic. It has a few historic sites such as cemeteries and the smoking hillsides are supposed to be amazing to view from a safe distance.

Pottsville is the home of the Yuengling Brewery, Americas oldest brewery. 'Nuff said

I would love to check that out. I have always been curious to see Centralia in person.

Somebody PM me if this ever gets finalized.

Sounds like a plan. I won't have the Balt (not that anyone gives a chit about an LS sedan)
But I could bring along the other ride. Get togethers are fun as hell. I've met some cool people
at benefit runs and shows etc.
I'm in
