05 SS/SC 06 SS/SC whats the Difference?

Ok ok i admit that i only bought my SS/SC 2 days ago. You can call me a newb because of this but what is the major difference between the 05 and the 06 Cobalt ss/sc. Ive seen people saying that the 06s are so much better than the 05s, but i dont really see a difference..

im not sure but usually the first year they make a new car they can have alot of problems, and usually fix them the next year.

Other than the lower badge, I don't think really anything, except they supposedly patch up a lot of issues people were having with the '05s.

Both me and TxL (TxLonghorn) have a 2005 and a 2006 (orange and silver, respectively). Honestly, I don't see the difference between them, running-wise. Maybe PCM issues have been resolved in the newer year, but other than that, I wouldn't go as far as to say there's even a big noticable difference. Someone care to comment?

lmao! The 2.4 SS without the SC was new for the '06 model year.
04' Redline was the first Ecotec with the Supercharger, then in '05 the Cobalt was born. With that came the LS, LT and SS/SC trim lines. In '06 they introduced the LTZ and SS non SC for the Sedan, and the SS non SC for the Coupe.

The only major diff. was if you got the G85 package with LSD and recarro seats............In Canada there was no G85 package offered for 05'!!!!!!!! Other than the lower SS badge on the 06' models............that's it.

I think I have seen more drivetrain problems with the 06 than the 05. I could be missing them, but I have only seen maybe 1 trans problem with the 05's and like 3 with the 06.

People keep calling the 05's lemons, but most, if not all the 05 owners in AZ have had no troubles. I was just talking with Vendian about this last night.

I honestly haven't heard of any serious issues with either. Infact, pretty much everything I've heard about them was quite satisfying.

Hey what's up fellow Delawarian?

There is no difference besides badges. And all those tales about 06's being faster are just myths...

I've heard the motor mount has a slightly different design for '06.
