Castrol Raceway Western Cobalt meet 1/4 mile times:

Thought I'd post this up here after today's runs.. almost everybody was running alot slower than they should've I think due to the weather being so friggin hot.. if I remember correctly, my in-car gauge was reading outside temps of about 92 degrees .. it was 86 on the drive home at around 6pm and it was definately cooler at that point; we were running in the early afternoon for about 1.5 to 2 hours. Elevation at the track is approximately 2300 feet above sea level.
If anybody can correct the times, I'm a little curious

My best for the day was 13.539@105.96mph.. 2nd best was 13.644@106.18mph
My car runs strong and hard, but I have serious traction issues in 1st gear.. might need slicks or to lower the front tire pressures to being ridiculously low.. I had already put them down to 27 lbs. The rears were at 41 with the heat, and are normally at 34 on a normal day. Car ran pretty consistent 13.7's as I did part throttle 1st gear launches.
I'll post the slips up later, and sorry for leaving early lol.. too tired from the bloody heat, and pretty hungry. It was a good meet and it was fun to tear down the track 14 times in a little under 2 hours I know I'm a nobody here, but thanks to all of you for coming out, and thanks to Chad to organizing a great meet. I look forward to next year

Everyone remember to post your times in the official 1/4 mile section list with a time slip and I'll put you up on the list!

It will be cool to see the list full of cars this year

the heat was a major issue
my best was a 14.440 at 104 mph almost a full sec slower than a regular drag night.

ordered a meth kit to install, lower my intake temp, should help, will let you guys know on the difference i will find.

Knight, those times are very respectable considering how much time youve had on the track.
cool weather and some more practice and youll be easily low 13s. some exhaust work? and who knows

Snakes, you are extremely hindered by that exhaust. I think youll be happy once you open that puppy up to breath

Thx Steve, but I'm a very competent driver.. I've street raced since I was like 16 yrs old and I know how to make a car get good times.. My old 88 stang always had traction issues and to get any kind of a launch without either going up in smoke or bogging took some practice to do properly.. I haven't forgotten how to do that; it's just that this car has a crazy amount of power for what it is lol thanks to you
Since the day at the track, I can walk on it in 2nd and it'll spin all the way through 2nd gear now.. I guess the computer's recalibrated to the fuel that I put in.. little late but still.. I stepped on it yesterday on my way to work to get around a slow granny and it lit up the tires; I was quite pleasantly surprised It really feels like a 12 second car but until we get a cooler night at a street legals when some of the guys are planning on going, and rotating the tires at the very least, I can't put that theory to test.

no doubt in my mind.
your boost should drop down once you open the exhaust up.
allowing us to make more pwr with timing.

I can tell by your shifting that your driving is fine.
nevertheless the track does take a bit of getting used to, even for seasoned drivers.
We can look into some more detailed boost limiting in first to help control that power if you want.

Im not surprised that tricky PCM took a bit to settle down.
considering how many tables there are hidden away in there lol.

you can get way more out of your current setup. i ran 14.0 @ 102mph. 106mph and a 15* day should have you in the mid-low 13's

yeah, bought a scan tool and keep getting a low system voltage code on startup and the occasional throttle. Mainly just trying to find this exhaust leak I got now. Woo carbon fiber shipped, faster times to come hopefully
