Basically, I don't like the look of the bottom of my rear bumper. An SC rear lip would be ideal, but it looks like that will be near impossible to find and I'd surely have to get it painted since I have a non-SC color. Are there any other lips out there? The G5 lip is hot but it fits on a base bumper so I'm not sure if it'd fit on mine/make it look any lower.

The SC/TC lip or the G5GT lip should fit fine, and finding one is only half the battle. If you wan to put it on the way it comes from the factory, you have to buy the clips and any other extra hardware to attach the lip.

 

You only need the clips really for the ss/sc lip

 

Yeah I don't know how the G5 lip works I just assumed it would be similar to the SC lip since I've been through the installation of those.

 

I gotta get a look up close at GT to see how that lip is attached. Not sure if it would fit on the SS bumper... I've heard people say they were going to do it but have not actually seen a picture.

since its for the g5 then it will fit cuz the 2.4 ss has the same ass as the g5.

2.4 SS coupe does not have the same rear as the sedan, it has the same rear as the SS supercharged coupe. Having said that, I'm thinking that lip will be big enough to fit.

 

It's not the same but it's close enough that the lip can be made to fit. Not too big a problem.

 

No no no. Your not listening to what I'm saying. This is a G5 rear lip. The G5 coupe not the sedan. G5brad had to modify the lip to fit on his sedan. G5coupe / 2.4 cobalt coupe = same ass

Duh I was agreeing that the rears between the coupes and sedans aren't the same and that the G5 and 2.4 rear IS the same. That's rather obvious. I was just saying the coupe and sedan is close enough that the lips can fit with minor work.

 

I think it looks pretty awesome! The g5 lip comes with those fins in the middle?? I want one of those now then.

where do you find a ss/tc lip?

 

It's the same as an SS/SC lip... you can try to buy one off someone or you can pay like $300 at the dealer, or a little less from GMpartsdirect.com.

Actually, with the coupes:

Base bumper = G5 + 2.2 Cobalt
Base bumper + lip = G5 GT
Extended bumper + middle piece = 2.4 Cobalt
Extended bumper + lip = 2.0

So a lip designed for a G5 coupe is for a base bumper, i.e. smaller... but will probably fit.

 

is there any shot from the side of that blue G5 with the SS spoiler? Im thinking of doing this and would like to sse what it looks like
