I purchased a new 09 Cobalt Coupe LT in June, within 2 weeks I had to have the car towed to the dealer for overheating. I told them that it never sounds like the fan turns on. Got the car back a day later with some lame explaination about a bubble in the coolant. Took the car back and 7 days later the same thing happened. Had the car towed again only this time there was no coolant in the car at all. Temp was running at 248F. Way too high. Dealer has now decided that the cyclinder was cracked and that is why there was no coolant in the car. Still have not heard them say anything about the fans not running at all. As of today the car has been in the dealer for 15 days total and the only thing they want to do is replace the cyclinder head. I don't think that this is going to be ok as I know that when the engine overheats it expands and contracts causing the metal to warp and not fit properly anymore. Not sure what else to do but I don't want this car any longer.
Any ideas? Has anyone else had this problem? Loved the car but now it is about as good as a large planter. :cussing:
