Everybody in MD tell me what ya think

Im 22 and currently live in upstate ny...albany area to be exact. I am thinking a move may do me some good and am considering making MD my new home. I more or less am not happy with where I am in general and looking to start over...Just curious as to what its like down there, what are your opinions on the area and possibly a couple areas to check out. ANY input would be most appreciated.

Frederick

If you are going live in MD, come here.

1 hour from D.C. and Baltimore.

Cost of living is affordable

We have been hit by the recession, but not nearly as bad as everywhere else.

What things do you like to do?

Ooo

there is both a Nissan and Volvo dealer in Frederick.

If you can stand PA snow (I'm a skier myself) Liberty (small) Whitetail (poor park) and Roundtop (eh) are within driving distance.

Bands seem to be plentiful
The city of Frederick sponsors concerts every sunday night in the summer in a bandshell in a park, or you can use it at any time.

maybe u know him...Rob Cibelli, he used to be in a band called stillglow? So what your sayin id there's no real good resorts in the area? and at least I'll be able to find work hahah (if one of the 2 stealerships are hiring). He said the band scene was definately booming when he was down there though, he moved up in the summer of 2007. Have you been there your whole life?

The tallest hill, Whitetail has a 935ft vertical drop, if that helps haha.
Roundtop is smaller, but really making improvements in the park, but even then not as good as a few of the smaller New England resorts i've visited.\

Band scene is def big, I'm not in any, but they are everywhere.

I've lived in the northern part of Frederick county, 15 minutes from frederick, my entire life

If work is a priority there are alot of dealers in the bel air area, Hunt Valley, Dundalk(Kinda Trashy). Fredrick traffic sucks ***** on 70 though. There are alot of places to chose from in MD. COL is about the same.

Well, we are commonly referred to as Frednecks. lol. Best description is an educated, gentlemanly redneck. but not everyone.

As you get closer to D.C., I've noticed that people and their driving habits get nastier, even worse than the one time I went through NYC on a Friday afternoon....

this might help

oh and northern frederick city has a TON of doctor's offices....and a TON of nurses...lol...

everyone I know is very level headed, that's the most fitting description.

Split politically, though everyone leans conservative and pro-small business.

nurses are good, but they have to be hot haha...im very accident prone lol...as far as politics I try to stay out of it so that wouldn't really concern me...and that census thing did put things into perspective. Level-headed is good, I am as well...

i meant that the jobs are very good in there but in order to get in you need to know someone that works there like family or friend and try for the job at the right time its very difficult to get in .Ive got family that are second in command of the international longshore association union and it took me close to one full year to get in.
