TPMS Reset W/O keyless entry

Hey guys,

Quick question, my boyfriend (whitty) was just trying to re-learn my sensors on my car after Canadian Tire broke and then replaced a sensor and couldn't figure out how (long story) in any case he followed the steps in the manual to the letter however the car doesn't quite act as the manual indicates the turn signals don't come on to say which tire to start with however he did them in the order it says in the manual DF , PF , PR , DR and the horn chirps in between tires as it should however at the end of the process (5 times in a row) it just says "Tire Pressure Learn?" as if the process wasn't successful ... Any thoughts. BTW the car is an 08 G5 Auto no power options. Also none of the senors at all report afterwords so its like not one of them learned correctly. To change the pressure to activate the sensor he has been using his compressor to increase the pressure then decreasing after each round back a bit below stock and starting again ... we're both at a loss.

Thanks!

I really don't wanna go back to the stealer-ship again if i can help it (they couldn't do it either)

I believe that when the corresponding light on the car shows you have to release a bit of air from that corner, then it will "acknowledge" when it senses the air release.

that's just it it says that the turn signals will blink in the corner it wants u to change the pressure in, all 4 turn signals just stay lit the whole time. nothing ever blinks the horn sounds 2 times to indicate it is ready to begin, then the first time i waited for it to start to blink like it said then the horn went 4 more times about 30 secs apart then all lgiths went off, i assumed that i missed my chance to do it so i started over an started up with teh drivers side front as soon as the first 2 horn sounded then moved in the order the manual states and i stated able (DF, PF, PR, DR) after the 4th beep the lights go off and the manual says if successful the DIC will read tire calibration complete or something to that effect... i never get that. It has been about 10 attempts now all yield the same result.

I've read that a pressure change either way will work for calibrating. Try letting air out of each tire for a second or two and move on to the next one as soon as the horn beeps. The system may be timing out between tires if it takes too long to get the compressor hooked up.

It's probably not it then if you're able to get around quickly with the compressor. The time out thing happened to me the first time because I didn't think of taking off the caps before starting. You could also try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes and try again. I think that clears the memory or something.

It might take up to 30 seconds to get the confirmation honk from each corner as the sensors only transmit every 30 seconds (iirc) when the car is not moving. Just let air out for 7-8 seconds (should drop it low enough to trigger the warning) and wait for the honk, move on to the next tire and repeat.

With valve caps off before hand, should take all of 4 minutes - just make sure you are dropping the pressure enough that the low tire warning would come on - below 28 psi on mine (205 50r17s), may be different pressures depending on the factory wheel / tire package.

All else fails, the dealer (or many tire shops) will have a tool that can relearn the positions.

i need to drop the pressure enough to flag a warning ? that may be my problem i am only letting out a little amount of air but consistently so i dont run them flat... i'll be a little more aggressive next time :P

(note it goes to about 26 - 24 PSI when i let air out)

Thanks!
