Running an aftermarket Heat Exchanger

I plan buying an aftermarket heat exchanger and running it inline with the stock heat exchanger but i am having difficulty deciding what kit to run. I have my eyes on the ottp kit but i was wondering what i would need to run the heat exchanger inline with the stock setup. Is anyone running this setup? Any info will be greatly appreciated.

The OTTP kit is your best bet. Great quality and easy installation. Bumper removal is not needed. I have the CXR h/e and I have had 0 problems with it, but I highly recommend the OTTP kit.

There is a group buy on the ZZP S2 HE (same as OTT) for the next few days.

zzp s3 h/e is what i have and works like a charm.
it's light as hell too, prob 15lbs after you fill it up with coolant.
don't run it inline either, you'll be better off.

hmm i want aware that zzp made heat exchangers. Do the zzp and ottp exchangers come with hoses and fastners? I heard running aftermarket exchangers inline with stock provides better cooling.

The S3 is a lot better than the S2/OTT piece. It wieghs 6#'s vs. the other one at 17. Plus it has more cooling area and fluid capacity. But it does cost more.

Many people run it stand alone, we normally do them inline. Factory first, then aftermarket.

i have the s3 from zzp. didnt need to remove my bumper. it would have been a little easier if i had but it is all good. love how it fills the whole lower opening. the ott and zzp s2 one doesnt. but any of them is better then none. also, i left my stock one in there also.

cool, thanks for the info, i noticed that u have the dual pass and a larger resiviour tank. Would you recomend the dual pass with an aftermarket heat exchanger?

yes i would. the more cooling you get the better everything runs. once iat2's get over a certain temp the computer pulls timing which reduses timing. every cooling mod you can do helps prevent this.

with your 2.9 what are your iat2's?

I'd reccommend a single pass manifold instead.
Dual pass is a bandaid for a bigger problem.

And as for running inline, one of the guys from ott along with others have all found lower temps by running the aftermarket h/e. I have mine inline because I let others who hadn't done testing and were just throwing out bullshit theories talk me out of running the aftermarket only and regret it and am too lazy to fix it. The stock h/e is just sandwiched inbetween 2 other's. I'll prob fix it once I get a new manifold.
