Post limited slip differential?

My car is supose to have limited slip but i swear it feels like im doing a 1 wheel spin on a wet road in first gear. Are both wheels suppose to spin? I bought the car used from the dealer, maybe i should have them print me off the factory options from my vin

sticker in the trunk under the mat, look for G85 if you got a ss s/c...not sure about the t/cs. G85 is the name of a code on the build sheet I believe it is called?

The G85 is a ATB diff from quaife (ATB = Autmatic Torque-Bias) - Different way of saying TBD.

Take a look here for more info: http://www.quaifeamerica.com/differentials/diffs.htm

g85 is the package type that has the limited slip, it has different interior, is your interior a solid color or does it have inserts that are the color of the car

He's talking about the supercharged version. Yours is turbocharged I take it, since you posted in the turbocharged section.

G85 is the package that used to include several upgraded options on the supercharged model, but on the turbocharged model like yours and mine, it means that you have the limited slip differential if you have this package. The easiest way to tell is in your trunk, believe it or not.

Pop your trunk and lift up the carpet on the left side inside the trunk. Not too far from the subwoofer there will be a sticker stuck to the metal of the car on the "floor" of the trunk under the carpet. This sticker lists all the options and packages your car has. Find "G85". If it's on there then you've got the LSD. If it's not listed, then you don't.

I think there was talk about the 2010 models all having it standard. That might be what's causing the mixup.

Honestly, it should have been standard from the get-go... but alas...

Yeah when I called about one at a dealership before I got mine, the dealer said "yeah it has the limited slip, I'm looking at the window sticker right now". I drove over to the dealer to take a look and LSD was not an option. I asked him why he told me it did and he was like "it has traction control, isn't that the same thing?" So car salesmen pretty much never know what the hell their talking about.

ok the sticker is sort of worn out but i do see G85 on it. So i guess i have LSD although it doesn't really feel like it.

Yea mine is 08 turbo.

While closing the trunk i noticed that the gaps are not equal on the left and right side of trunk. Not even close. The left side is raised and the right side sits down below. Its sort of slanted. Ugh I wonder if my car has been in an accident

Either that or you need to tone it down a bit so she doesn't get so excited when she's in your car.

...for the sake of the seats of course...

So you bought a newer used car ( assuming you bought a used 08 or 09 SS/TC) and you didn't ask for a free carfax report?!!?!?!? ahhahaha honestly, that is your bad.

I wouldn't ever buy a used car without seeing a carfax report.

All used car dealers usually print one off for you without asking, and if you do ask, it usually isn't a problem.

Post purchase is not the time to be wondering if the car has been in an accident.

Was it certified used? or as is?

Dude, these cars are put together ( for the most part) by humans still, sure, robots do some ****...

yeah guys, remember, when buying a car like a cobalt SS... obviously, since your going for the SS, YOU probably know about the car a lot more than the dealer.

The dealer has many other models of cars to sell besides the cobalt SS. I love how people expect most dealers to know all the specs on every car they sell ( really, they should, but not needed)

Its not a cobalt SS dealership ya know. even tho that would be sweet!

I mean dude, its research. I was lurking on CSS.net many months before I ordered my 09 SS
