Casey i love you for making this thread. I want LNF sportlines! I heard somewhere that they werent making an LNF specific kit and then I heard other places they were. I imagine the ONLY difference is the stiffness of the spring.

poop.
called eibach and they said it was a rumor. they tested the same kit on the 08 and 09 models and felt that they didnt need to make any changes to the springs...
he said depending on the 2010 model, they might change something...

Ok guys I am not fer sher on this. I know the guy who tey r using for the test car. He is a member in So Cal and I believe his name is fshzil. The last time I talked to him if I remember right he said that eibach was not gonna release any specific springs for the LNF because there is no much of a difference they could put into springs for the LNF that's not already in the regukar sportlines for the LSJ since they r of such great quality already

well looks like that rumor was a FAIL. what I am curious though is any there any performance loss with sportlines over stock springs. If so whats the like percentage of loss. if its small im not worried about it. But i hear there may be an auto-x event near me within the next month and am curious if i should put my stockers on for it

Question

What are the disadvantages to the sportlines?...

Any tire selection limitations (on the stock wheels of course)?

Any increased scraping or bottoming out?

Any change in the steering feel/response?

Any change in ride smoothness?

well sense they arent coming out with the LNF specific springs, then there is no TRUE spring kit ment for our cars (LNF)

Well, how about the LSJ/LNF springs that are currently out? I guess I wasn't very clear about the question, sorry about that.

the ones that are out were made for only the LSJ cars, because the LNF was non existant, in the cobalt anyways.. so there is no true spring even made somewhat for the LNFs

UNLESS! they changed them along the way, which i have not heard of

So basically all the sportline refits the LNF guys are doing are with LSJ Sportline springs... wow that sucks in a way.

i think your taking it all wrong. The sportlines that are out now fit the COBALT. not just the LSJ, or LNF, but the 2.2 and 2.4. There springs specifically designed to allow a little play for a smooth ride and progressivly get much stiffer as they compress. This leads to better cornering with less body roll. However, since the SS/TC was designed with stiff springs already and had a specific stance tuned for the track, I doubt you can see that same performance with a different set of springs. I would imagine you would need to add a sway bar or something to regain that lost performance. And what my ORIGINAL question was, how much if any performance is lost over changing the stock springs out. I dont believe it to be too much since the sportlines are designed to be a performance spring, but if anybody who has done auto-x or something with them on can give some feedback it would be much appreciated

I just bought sportlines a few days ago...and I also bought the rack spacers from OTTP. I have heard that the rack spacers help out with the bump steer issue and regain some of the handling that is lost, if any.

for all we know, sportlines would be downgrading our stock suspension

^x2. It'd be nice to drop it a bit, but not at the cost of performance and putting added stress on the struts and steering components. Somebody needs to look into if either of these things would be affected by the Sportlines. If not, then I'd be a buyer.

i dont think eibach would make springs specific to the LNF b/c the market isnt that big. Its easy for them to make general sportlines b/c they fit on like 1 million different cobalts. But to design a set specific to the LNF would be a waste of time for them. They would put all those hours into manufacturing the perfect spring rate for best performance only to sell a few hundred of them or something. I can just see them wanting to spend those hours on something that will make them more money
