View Full Version : Brentwood Mall Matty 04-24-2006, 01:11 AM So the meet is May 7, at Brentwood Mall at Noon. Now what if there is rain? Go ahead with the meet up or auto-cancel ?? victory_red_SS 04-24-2006, 02:38 AM Brentwood Mall. Yes this is a go with the plan to include pictures and a bite to eat while getting to know one another. We can then drive to 1) Stanley Park through the city, maybe even end at Ambleside park, West Van for pics with the ocean\Stanley Park as our background, or 2) cruise to Squamish as previously suggested We should be flexible which to do depending on who all shows up as some guys may want to flex some hp on the twisty's of the highway. I have checked and construction on the sea to sky is definitely not happening on the weekends. As for auto canceling because of the rain I would say no. If we wait for a sunny Sunday in BC that may be a while and some are booking off work to make it on the 7th. Besides it can be raining in Maple Ridge but not Surrey, then be raining in Burnaby and not in Abbotsford or Vancouver. We locals all get the picture. g5mike 04-24-2006, 07:49 PM It all sounds great, no auto cancel, like victory said"it could be raining in burnaby but not Van, another ride suggestion could be a cruisr to twassen or whiterock? g5mike 04-24-2006, 08:01 PM also at the meet, I have 3 more cobaltss.net decals left, I was going to use two but decided to go with one only on my third brake light, for anyone who wants them they are silver. Matty 04-24-2006, 09:21 PM Ok so rain or shine. Sounds ok to me. I like the Stanley Park thing. Some good pics could come out of that locale. My G\F said there is some kind of event going on, (can't remember what it was and she is at work), so I will try to find out what it is and where it is happening cause it may cause traffic concerns. I might add I am up for whatever. I saw an "N" on the back of Pie's car. Isn't there a stipulation for driving at night by yourself when ya got one of those puppies attached to the back??:poke: :p: Just playin with ya Pie. fiShYs- 04-25-2006, 01:28 AM noon as in 12pm? ill c if i can make it victory_red_SS 04-25-2006, 03:16 AM noon as in 12pm? ill c if i can make it Yes 12pm, hope to see you there. VANSS 04-27-2006, 07:41 PM Do you have a balt or what? you can do the cochihalla in no time, see you sunday. He's got a point. You could be the guinea pig to top speed with stage two. With the higher rev limiter I would be interested to see how fast you could get going before you run out of gear. Anyway, I'm in for Sunday. Looking forward to meeting all of you. :cssNET: r_fiorda49 04-27-2006, 07:49 PM What? that is unacceptable:nono: :nono: :nono: drive back Sunday morning, you can make it then head back up afterwards. Your car was made for driving;) aha yea i dunno if we'll stay all the way til the 7th...i took all next week off of work so it's a possiblity. Also, i'm going with some guys from way back in my Nissan phase (:red:) and there's a couple decent cars ( rhd silvia s13, 240sx w/ SR20DET, and a couple turbo KA's )...i dunno how you guys would feel with some import invasion but it might make for some nice "outside opinions" and photo ops :) Anyways, i'll defnitely try to make it back in time cuz sounds like we're gonna get pretty decent attendence at the meet :cssNET: Later, Rob victory_red_SS 04-27-2006, 08:57 PM aha yea i dunno if we'll stay all the way til the 7th...i took all next week off of work so it's a possiblity. We are all friendly as I assume they are too. We will just put them in the front or back of the line for our cruise. g5mike 04-29-2006, 02:38 AM you know I see these balts and g5's around but they are usually going fast and in the other direction, so much for these colbaltss.net flyers I printed out. stupid1 04-29-2006, 02:11 PM I'm gonna do my best to make it to this meeting, I may be a bit late if I do make it. I have school Sunday mornings at my Union school and it ends at noon but I should be able to pop by on the way home depending on what the Wife and kids have planned for the day. stupid1 04-29-2006, 02:13 PM G5 who was looking for info on the JBP CAI? Yes I have one and love it! Got a bigger gain (I think) than the K&N but haven't had a chance to get the car out on the dyno to find out the facts. g5mike 04-29-2006, 02:20 PM good to hear from you, The person looking for info on the intake would probaly befound in the performance forums for the 2.0 it has been a few weeks so it is hard to recall PenguinPIE 05-01-2006, 02:53 PM so i guess its gonna be a small meet.. victory_red_SS 05-01-2006, 04:39 PM I hope not but considering that this has taken over a year to set a date it will be nice to actually have it:) And for those who must work I have only two words for you, hookey - flu. g5mike 05-03-2006, 05:10 PM Who is confirmed for Sunday? Matty 05-03-2006, 06:19 PM I'm in. victory_red_SS 05-03-2006, 06:55 PM I am in as well. Now lets just hope lots more are as well and then the rain stays away so we can have dry roads for our slow granny driving cruise:lol:   PenguinPIE 05-04-2006, 11:15 PM which part of the mall btw? g5mike 05-04-2006, 11:27 PM just listen for the whine(very noticable) and you will now where we are at:lol: victory_red_SS 05-05-2006, 12:06 AM I suggest the lot next to Zellers which is closest to Willingdon. Listening for the whine might not work over the sound of my exhaust:lol: pegasus_691 05-05-2006, 03:15 AM Looks like I'll stop by for a little while if I can. Both my boyfriend and I have arrangements set for 2pm on Sunday but we can make it for about an hour. I let the boyfriend drive my car today as it had to go to the dealership. When I bought it a couple of weeks ago the shifter had scratches and I asked for it to be replaced. Today was the day for that. My boyfriend said he got a lot of looks at my car:) I guess you don't see nice yellow cars that often. I went out for a drive tonight and it was great:) I'm debating on driving to work tomorrow, friday's usually aren't too bad for traffic. (I work downtown vancouver) Hope there's great weather and a good turnout on Sunday. Lets meet at the lot closest to lougheed by the skytrain. It won't be busy there and people can't miss it. What do you say? PenguinPIE 05-05-2006, 03:23 AM just listen for the whine(very noticable) and you will now where we are at:lol: o man.....id better get mine to whine before sunday! *kicking my car* why wont you whine! g5mike 05-05-2006, 03:29 AM I was wondering Pegasus, if your guy got the 2.5 or the 3.5 in the ultima, and if so have you gone out on the road and kicked his ass? pegasus_691 05-05-2006, 03:43 AM The 2.5 Altima has 177 Horsepower, so i'd say he'd kick my ass. He's driven both cars and he finds that the response on the altima is much better than the pursuit and the difference in horsepower isn't much. I still love my car though:) It's tons of power for me:) (I have a major lead foot) I haven't done anything to my car yet as for mods, because i've only owned it for a couple weeks thus far. We are looking at tinting on Saturday. g5mike 05-05-2006, 04:35 AM same here,I was going to get the supercharged cobalt but when I drove the 2.4 It was quite responsive,by the way gm revised the hp on the 2.4 recently and it is 177hp nevertheless they are both great cars i have driven the ultima before and I must say it is sweet. Do you both have auto or stick..whoevers got the stick should come out on top! victory_red_SS 05-05-2006, 09:33 AM The 2.5 Altima has 177 Horsepower, so i'd say he'd kick my ass. Tell the boyfreind to bring the Altima there will be some SS\SC he can graciously lose to;) pegasus_691 05-05-2006, 01:12 PM Do you both have auto or stick..whoevers got the stick should come out on top! We both have automatic because we wanted to be able to drive eachothers cars. We are looking at settling down in the next couple of years and starting a family. pegasus_691 05-05-2006, 01:14 PM Tell the boyfreind to bring the Altima there will be some SS\SC he can graciously lose to;) My boyfriend isn't intersted in racing, Nor am I. Just because a car has power doesn't mean that the owner wants to race. Read the post above and you'll see why we got the cars we did. He'll be there, but without the Altima. victory_red_SS 05-05-2006, 01:20 PM My boyfriend isn't intersted in racing, Nor am I. Just because a car has power doesn't mean that the owner wants to race. Read the post above and you'll see why we got the cars we did. He'll be there, but without the Altima. I was just funnin with you and I am settled down. Probably one of the most boring guys out here. I don't drink\smoke\drug\party\stay out late or watch sports. I just like to go ffffffaaaassssttttttt ;) pegasus_691 05-05-2006, 02:10 PM Fast is fun:) Before my boyfriend took ownership of his Altima, he had a 2003 Hyandai Tiburon. Sold the Tiburon and actually got a 2005 350Z. Drove that for a day and really didn't like it (likes the look but just not practical for what he needs it for) and returned the 350Z for the Altima. He's going to be 28, we are settling down in our relationship and the Altima is a more practical car. g5mike 05-05-2006, 02:17 PM I came from a vibe/matrix and having dogs I was wanting a sedan and the only thing on the radar for me was the ultima, nissan has my favorite lineup of vehicles, to me they have good quality and the most powerful engines of all the jap manufactures:twothumbs g5mike 05-05-2006, 02:29 PM I do not race either, I just love good torque and the g5 has that for me like others on the board I just like to be the first of the line and out of the pack. on a side note I'm a boring guy who pretty much devotes all my time to my dog and doing anything that involves being outdoors:cool: g5mike 05-05-2006, 03:46 PM hey Pegasus I forgot to mention if you are tinting your car the dot matrix on the back window and tint do not get along very well, there is a thread or two about it on the foum, probaly in appearance. I did mine it looks great except for a few inches aroung the top of the back window pegasus_691 05-05-2006, 04:43 PM Thanks for the information. What would you suggest I do? I do want to get the the two side windows, the smaller two and the back window tinted. Any help would be great. Also if you could let me know an estimated price, that would be helpful. g5mike 05-05-2006, 04:56 PM I would still get the car tinted all around with a gradual fasein, call diamond car care in delta I paid 180.00 all windows tinted and they only use the best 3m tint with lifetime warrenty.their ph. is5903353 ask foe emmanuel antell him 'Mike the guy that had a vibe but know has a g5'recommended him. he has been in the bussiness for 35yrs and is not no fly by night detailer with a bunch of kids working there.:twothumbs pegasus_691 05-05-2006, 06:18 PM My boyfriend and I are both wanting to get our windows tinted at the same time. We are hoping to find a place that will give us a deal since we are binging in 2 cars. I'm letting the boyfriend pick the place we get it done at. He's good with stuff like that. How long does a tint job take? g5mike 05-05-2006, 06:43 PM I think it takes a couple of hours. |
